TO: ALL
Based on my reading of this issue the scientific community is not upbeat and has no real answers at this time regarding the abiogenesis hypothesis. I do not think they ever will obviously. Sincerely, Ken TO: Jar I really do not see much point in your question. I am not here to rack up debate points or play word games. If you wish to do additional research on this matter feel free. At this time, I am satisfied with what I have found on this issue. Sincerely, Ken

To Ken:
You are free to have that opinion, no matter how factual or erroneous, as that is the beauty of America. It also will have no bearing on the truth of the matter, nor on the reality of what did happen 3.5 billion years ago. quote: This site written by G. R. Morton lines out several instances where Hugh Ross ignores current scientific findings in order to keep his theories afloat. Therefore, if Hugh Ross is willing to ignore scientific evidence, then it is very possible that he would ignore any upbeat mood at a conference that supports views that he is opposed to philosophically. Therefore, we have to throw out Ross, and being that Fazale and Ross are co-authors of the quote in question, then we have to throw out the entire quote. Secondly, the one quote you offer from a professionaly trained scientist is not even from the meeting but from an abstract printed a year before the meeting. Therefore, your quotes do not meet up with Fisher's criteria since quotes from one bad source does not history make.

I for one am not a big fan of Hugh Ross. I am a YEC and I think he accepts big bang etc. I will let readers decide though if the Gr. Morton material is a case of Ross ignoring extremely empirically valid science or merely disputing science that is not very empirically established.

What would make a convention upbeat?

So far we have free beer, tikki torches and a couple other suggestions but not one word from Ken who made the unsupported assertion that the convention was downbeat. No one yet has suggested pretty girls, free goodie bags, free boiled shrimp or any of the other posibilities. My guess is that Ken, as usual, simply doesn't have a clue what he's talking about and so cannot answer.

I had suggested an open bar, but beer alone is fine by me. Tikki torches, goodie bags and free shrimp make for a festive atmosphere, but the pretty girls don't really do much for me.

Hi Ken,
Ken writes: See my last post to you in the "professed atheism" thread. Sadly, this does not answer my direct questions. Here they are again:

Ken,
Ooook! posted this link to a paper on this topic, fascinating stuff and gives good insight into the work being done in abiogenesis at this time if you will read it. Searching for the common ancestor - PubMed Because they don't confidently claim to know exactly how it was done and give engineering explanations based on conjecture but stated with the confidence of fact like the Noah's Ark articles you posted you can read it without threat to your beliefs and then happily dismiss the article, but at least you'll have a little better idea about what the biologists are doing. lfen
