Re: "But the second stone, up for grabs."
Phat
Jesus does not mention God. But he is supposed to be God. Right?
Should their witness not then be the same at all times?
But you might have a point. I will think on it but this one seems to contradict the other I set below.
John 8;14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true:
Do you see a contradiction and can you explain it?

The root cause that pushes us to create religions and Gods are well known. It is basically to appease our tribal natures and give ourselves the pleasures and security of appeasing our tribal and hivish natures.
We are also pushed by what Freud calls his Father Complex but that is at our individual levels and instincts.
Some religions use the supernatural to rally round while others do not.
When too much supernatural elements are introduced and people have to suspend logic and reason to actually swallow the supernatural aspects, those delusional beliefs form what science is calling psychosis.
The religious who have gone into intellectual and moral dissonance due to supernatural belief will just have to learn to live with the fact that science considers them psychotic.
If you do not like that term, what would you call it?

Re: "But the second stone, up for grabs."
Let me rephrase that: BELIEVERS know what the Bible means, unbelievers can't know because they don't have the Holy Spirit. And saying that we know doesn't mean we understand all of it. But there is no point in arguing with you about what it means because you're going to think whatever you think anyway.

Re: "But the second stone, up for grabs."
Faith
Which group of believers are you talking about?
Christianity has split itself and the meaning of the bible into so many cults and sects it is hard to keep track.
Seems that anyone who can buy a cross can create their own version of Christianity.
Which one are you calling believers and are all the others full of non-believers just acting like believers?

Re: "But the second stone, up for grabs."
Yes, I forget how confusing it can be from the outside, and it's not all that easy to define to an outsider either.
Generally a Christian takes the Bible as ultimate authority but I have to allow that there are some who believe the main tenets of the faith yet won't accept the early part of Genesis yet may be Christians because of those main tenets. There are hundreds or even thousands of churches that teach those tenets so those supposed thousands of different sects disagree only on inessentials.
I was going to go on to try to be more specific but I'm not very optimistic that it would be taken seriously by you anyway and I'm worn out from earlier posts so I'll try to get back to it later.

Re: respect vs tolerance
Again, you misuse the term Jihadist. You are making the same errors from ignorance that you make when referring to Muslims and Christians and the Bible and the Qur'an.
The term is not monolithic. Not all people who practice Jihad do so in a violent or anti-social manner.
The problem as I have pointed out is not Christianity, not Islam, not the Bible, not the Qur'an, not Jihad but education and you keep showing that you are little different then those you complain about.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

I did not mean stupid although I agree with what you said.
Brain dead is what I used and we tend not to try to keep those around too long.

You are into definitions and I am into dialog.
We agree that education is quite important.
I noted above that you speak about your constitution.
You have learned quite a bit from it as you analyse what it says. Right?
You might remember that to a Muslim, his Qur'an is his constitution and even a small change in either his or yours would or could make quite the difference.
Thus I refute your notion that changing the Qur'an would not produce fewer jihadist.
Just like changing your right to bear arms would likely produce fewer school shootings.
There is not a lot of proof out there but to do nothing and expect change etc.

You said, "Kill the brain dead today and prevent the brain dead of tomorrow by taking away what is causing them." You can't prevent the Qur'an from effecting tomorrow's generation by killing today's followers of the Qur'an.

Faith
Have you ever seen two different denominations, one pro gay and one anti gay go at each other with the exact same bible?
It seem that even you insiders have a hard time defining things to each other so how you expect to define the differences to others is quite the mystery.

More dishonesty from you. I have never even discussed changing the Qur'an but it is irrelevant anyway since not all Muslims become Jihadists and not all Jihadists interpret Jihad in any way that could possibly be considered negative.
Nor is the Qur'an similar to a Constitution. Look at the Muslim nations around the world. Create two columns; in one list the Muslim nations that have a Constitution and in the other list the Muslim nations that have only the Qur'an.
Do you ever get tired of always being wrong?

You forgot the bit about taking away what is causing them. Their present version of the Qur'an.
That book has been revised before and it can happen again.

Re: "But the second stone, up for grabs."
Yes I've seen that and I have no problem whatever saying the Bible unequivocally represents homosexual acts as sin and marriage as between a man and a woman without exception. There is no support for gay rights in the Bible, and those I consider genuine Christians read the Bible the same way. If a person can't recognize the fraudulent twisting that has to go on to claim the Bible supports homosexuality and gay marriage there is no hope of persuading you of anything. I expect to lose this argument because that's the way the world is going, but all that means is that the world is happily embracing a huge destructive lie.

How do you propose to "take away" the Qur'an? Do you think the Jihadists are likely to accept your revisions?
