Right.
...and every single one of the candidates for the US presidency is a conservative right winger.
Oh, except for Kucinich and Gravel. They are moderate liberals leaning towards Libertarianism.

What the heck does that mean? All the rest of you seem to have 6's or 8's. Help!
It means you are Left-leaning and Libertarian, but very close to the center. More socially and economically conservative than those who got -6's and -8's.

I didn't get some questions...like, "When you are troubled, it's better not to think about it, but to keep busy with more cheerful things." What the hell?? What does that have to do with politics?
don't worry. stick to your daily routines. try not to think about the war in iraq. it's too depressing anyways.

So, CS, care to comment on the OP?
I'm not sure what you thought about how right-leaning the US is compared to the rest of the world, but does it surprise you, as a conservative, to see Clinton and Edwards and Obama right up there in the conservative right quadrant?

I think the test is faulty.
My brother is more conservative than I am (like, a lot) and according to the test, he is less conservative than Hilary Clinton. That just doesn't make sense.
I don't know how they skew the results (or questions) to make them comparable to the rest of the world.
I am surprised that all those people ended up in the first quadrant. But my reaction is not "What is wrong with those people?", my reaction is "What is wrong with that test?"

i think one of the issues with the quiz is that conservatism under a democratic system is libertarianism (i.e. smaller government, less personal oversight) which tends to coincide with social liberalism (left-ness) but doesn't necessarily. however, libertarianism is the "liberal" side of this compass. social conservatives should tend to be more authoritarian, while political conservatives in this country may not really be political conservatives. also, socially liberal people may be authoritarian in nature because of their view that the only way for people to do the right thing is if their government tells them what to do. this is authoritarianism whether the espoused "right thing to do" is kill gays or enforce equal pay.
this accounts for the issues you see in the test. america is schitzophrenic.

political conservatives in this country may not really be political conservatives.
Then what is really being politically conservative?
view that the only way for people to do the right thing is if their government tells them what to do.
I sorta hold this view, just not extremely. I just don't have faith in the people, if you know what I mean.
this accounts for the issues you see in the test.
Thanks, that did help.

Then what is really being politically conservative?
authoritarian governments be it fascist dictators or absolute monarchs.
I just don't have faith in the people, if you know what I mean.
i don't either, but i have less faith in people in positions of power.
Thanks, that did help.
glad to see my schooling isn't a complete waste.

Intentionally slanted? Apparently
I think the test is faulty.
I checked out their FAQ's because I was about to write to them for the same reason. According to the writers it is supposed to be slanted-- that it was written in a way that makes both liberals and conservatives say, "hey, this test is biased!"
They go on to say that they aren't asking yes or no questions, but rather, are giving propositions. You either agree or don't.
Personally, I didn't like how the propositions were framed because many of them forced you to answer in very simplistic terms when occasionally it was anything but simplistic.
As for my score, I got pretty much a bullseye, which I almost always get on that test. My score is nearly dead center with a slight deviation towards the libertarian right.

"God creates out of nothing. Wonderful you say. Yes, to be sure, but he does what is still more wonderful: he makes saints out of sinners." -Sren Kierkegaard

read above a bit. maybe if you understood how politics work, you'd be less convinced of the bias.
