Although totally impractical, technically, one would never reach the door, by halving the distance, the distance would always be greater than Zero.
Unless you get an erection halfway to the door.

One problem is that infinity is not a number. So an infinite number of moves would still not reach the door.

Whether or not infinity is a number it is clear that an infinite number of moves would in fact reach the door.
