It simply was so powerful it lowered the basin and threw the sediment on top of the boundaries.
The great fossil assemblages on all sides i see as from this short event about a century or two after the flood.
Based on what evidence?

How does a non-scientist explain something.

Are you just making this stuff up? You certainly do not get these "explanations" from the Bible. Is it okay to just say anything as long as it dove tails into something described in the Bible?
quote:
Then Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and behold, the surface of the ground was dried up.
And then the marmalade skies fell creating a giant basin into which the Atlantic Ocean flowed.
I've never recommended before that people look for explanations on creationist web sites, but perhaps you ought to take a look. You might actually learn some science.

The evidence is the fossils. tHey show them being covered quickly by sediment. this is a post flood event. So it was from the water crashing into the med area. Deepening a bit and in some areas carving great chunks of it out. It deposited much material on its banks.

Water is still not a frickin' bulldozer.
All the evidence is that the Med is a perfectly normal bit of ocean. We do not require a magical explanation for it, and the one that you have provided is not remotely plausible.

Going to close down for a while - Will look at reopening in c. 18 hours, if another admin doesn't do such first.
Closing in about 10 minutes.

Re: People, it's an ICE AGE themed topic - Topic reopened
The temporary closure got a bit long - I guess I may have been fishing for a reopen request.
Anyway, it's now open again. Shall we try to keep in touch with the topic theme?
