It's possible to manipulate it...
Says who? What evidence did they present to support their claim?
...and it has been claimed that it is manipulated to discredit Trump.

The thing is there are millions of Trump supporters but only the views of the anti-LTrumpers hit the headlines. How likely is it that ALL the tweets were negative given the great numbers of pro-Trumpers? If this just happens to be an issue that people are critical of why is it headlined to the exclusion of other issues?
When Trump calls the media "dishonest" for not repeating things he wishes to be true, he discredits himself. When Trump has to trash people on Twitter just for saying or doing things he objects to he discredits himself. When Trump talks about grabbing women "by the pussy" he discredits himself. When Trump makes false boasts he discredits himself. There are millions of people who don't see it this way, why is your opinion the one that matters? It's obvious to the rest of us that the media choose negative stuff against him, but you are in the group that revel in it. It's all a matter of how you spin it and you spin it the way the media spins it. Why is something he said in private and would never say in public, a "locker room" comment that lots of men might say in private, used against him? Do you think Clinton's private talk about women, that didn't get recorded and become headlines, was pure and aboveboard? (And besides he didn't say he did it, he said they would allow it, he was talking about a groupie mentality, star-struck groupies, which was about them more than about him).
Anyone who can't see that is a ridiculously biased Trump partisan. Anyone who DOES see it that way is a ridiculously biased Trump hater. Good grief you guys are blind.

As usual you are making a big deal out of nothing. If Trump didn't give the order some other President did. Only if Obama never gave an order to the ICE would another Presidents' order stand. And I didn't "excoriate" anybody.

Faith writes: The thing is there are millions of Trump supporters but only the views of the anti-LTrumpers hit the headlines. Wrong yet again Faith. Sheesh, there were two columns in the report, one from what you call major news sources and the second column from veterans replying to the reports that praised Trump. Again, the very news sources YOU claim are biased and leftist instead are the ones that presented both reactions.

Infowars doesn't consider itself to be on the right. They would consider me to be on the right but themselves to be libertarian or "classical liberals." LOLZ ... when you drive in the right side gutter and call it the middle of the road.
Republicans these days are hard to classify. I don't identify with most of them. The Bushes these days could almost be called leftist. Confirming what I said. Thanks.
I don't feel alone in my views of course so "faithist" isn't a fair definition. The Political Compass test fails to characterize the right in any meaningful way, but it would be interesting if a test could be constructed that did. Not being alone in your views does not make them centrist, it just means you got company. Like InfoWars and Breitbart. Also I found and started a thread on this test: PEW Political Typology Quiz Enjoyby our ability to understand Rebel☮American☆Zen☯Deist ... to learn ... to think ... to live ... to laugh ... to share. OK if it's that bad, if my eyes are too bad to read that stuff, I'll just stop. So if you want my opinion on something I can't read you're going to have to put it in clear large print in your own words.

Regardless of who issued the order or if as you suggested ICE is running rogue, it is STILL happening on Trump's watch and Trump is ultimately responsible.

And you are missing the point that I consider your point to be irrelevant, and who gave the orders is the important thing.

quote: And yet everything I listed was something Trump himself wrote or said - is he an "anti-Trumper" ? And don't forget that Trump supporters are a minority. Besides you are forgetting all the pro-Trump comments from the media representatives about the same part of the speech.
quote: If millions of people take a view that is obviously wrong it is still wrong.
quote: By which you mean we don't want to see the media as Trumps personal propaganda machine as Trump - and apparently you - want. Trump has done a lot to earn criticism, so he gets it. You may want to suppress those facts but in a free country it is the media's task to report them - not censor them because you don't like them.
quote: You think that Trump didn't know he was being filmed ? Besides it is vile enough that it deserves criticism.
quote: No, but I hardly rethink of Clinton as a moral paragon or above criticism. Even if he had the sense not to say it while he was being filmed.
quote: He certainly gave the impression he had done it - truthfully or not.
quote: Oh no, Faith is a lying hypocrite! I had better join her in worshipping Trump as the Antichrist! Or you know, just laugh at you, as usual.

No one questions that you believe that but your position is factually and legally wrong. Trump as Commander in Chief cannot claim immunity from the results under his watch. The Nazi's tried that defense and it didn't work then either.

Why is something he said in private and would never say in public, a "locker room" comment that lots of men might say in private, used against him? Because what anyone says when not consciously in the spotlight is what they really mean rather than what is self-censored. As a man I can tell you few upright men talk that way.

One more time: Considering that there are tens of millions of Trump supporters how is that there is SO MUCH negative stuff about Trump in the news ALL THE TIME, EVERY DAY, EVERY MINUTE? Hey?

I guess that a tyrant needs more than millions of supporters to suppress the truth.
Nobody makes Trump go onto Twitter to bash people. Nobody outside the Trump camp persuaded Flynn or Sessioms to mislead Congress. Trump is the one who decided to keep his tax returns secret, unlike any other recent president. Trump is the one who made a heavy-handed executive order that is very likely illegal and caused massive disruption. Trump is the one who boasted that Mexico would pay for his wall, and can't seem to find a way to do it. Trump went on and on about the ACA being a disaster and then suddenly realised that coming up with something better is far from easy Need I go on ? Trump and his staff are the main reason he gets so much negative press.

Hey? Because Trump seems incapable of opening his mouth without STUPID coming out and his supporters are either not honest enough or incapable of acknowledging his bullshit, gaffes and outright lies.

: Considering that there are tens of millions of Trump supporters how is that there is SO MUCH negative stuff about Trump in the news ALL THE TIME, EVERY DAY, EVERY MINUTE? Hey? Is this really a serious question? There are over 130 millions of voters. Having millions of supporters does not necessarily even mean that you are popular among the majority of citizens. Here is a factoid... Hitler’s approval ratings were in the 90th percentile in 1940—41. Do you think there might have been some negative, eventful things that could have been written about Hitler in the early 40s? Edited by NoNukes, : No reason given. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend. Thomas Jefferson Seems to me if its clear that certain things that require ancient dates couldn't possibly be true, we are on our way to throwing out all those ancient dates on the basis of the actual evidence. -- Faith Some of us are worried about just how much damage he will do in his last couple of weeks as president, to make it easier for the NY Times and Washington post to try to destroy Trump's presidency. -- marc9000
