Re: Strawman
Nothing stacks up to Farscape, which has been cancelled
yeah, in the worst way possible - between a cliffhanger episode and it's conclusion. It even says "to be continued" at the end of the last episode. What a crappy way to cancel a series! What a joke.
but those are mini-series. I have great hopes for 'Battlestar Galactica.'
Sorry to keep pushing this off-topic, but I had to tell you - abandon hope. Even the people who made it say it's going to be terrible.

Re: Strawman
Regarding the Farscape series, you should check out the parent company of the Scifi channel, Vivendi, which has a subsidiary that controls water rights in many 3rd world countries. They charge poor people for drinking water.
They are very concerned with the bottom line and the rumor was they were actually losing money on Farscape because of production costs.
Hopefully, somebody can purchase the rights to the Farscape saga and either finish the series or make a full length movie.

Re: Strawman
I'd agree that next generation has suffered from poor
writing. Eg,
Picard and Dr. Crusher fall through a hole into a
pillared and vaulted room. Picard gets up, dusts himself
off and says 'We seem to be in some kind of underground
structure.'
And Q is just a cut-rate Squire of Gothos!!
..what's that tell you about the writing quality?!??
