Seriously.
If you want to run a forum that censors people you disagree with, FINE. But do it in the open.
Say up front: "We're going to allow some people to use some words, but other people can't."
Don't be coy. Don't be shy. Don't pretend like it's out of your control.
Just be up front about it.
And tell people, "Hey, you can say fucking nigger" all day long, but because you didn't pay us or whatever, you can't say "lie".

This is already being discussed over at Those ****ing Asterisks, but I'll say a few words and you can respond over there.
Swearing isn't censored. There's nothing about swearing or language in the Forum Guidelines, but there is a rule about being civil. Behavior that causes threads to spiral out of control attracts the attention of moderators, and one of the tools moderators have for dealing with persistent behavior of this sort short of suspension is censoring the words people tend to use when exhibiting this behavior.
