Creos will just claim that Noah used a technology that was lost in the flood. We have seen that argument on this forum already. Why shure god told him how to make tempered steal and even provided him with a forge. And all this time we tought the ark was wooden.

Edited by Theodoric, : changed creos to fundies Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

They could also receive up to $37mil in tax incentives to build it.
My guess is that it never gets finished but somehow Ham pockets a few mil of taxpayer money in the process.

There are fare to many problems with the ark storry for it to be true.
Wooden boats of that size do Leak like hell and haveto pupm water out constantly Steel was not availible at the time and the quoantity one would need is far to much for 8 people to mine, melt, shape, and build in to the ship. One could not fit all those animals in a boat that big to little room. And one would need a whole much more food on board then the waight of the animals if you want to feed them. And lots more water so no one dihydrates, the surrounding water would be salty and bad to drink. One would also haveto take all species of fish on board because fresh water fish do not like salt in their water and salt water fish need enough salt in the water or they die. One would also need every form of plant on the boat or at least the seeds Plants under water have a tough time surviving whitout light. And when the flood would be over the animals would haveto find boats and go to their designated continents. All kengurus and simmilar would take one boat to australia, the polar bares pingunis and the like would take one to the arktic, girrafes, lions, and the like would go to africa ......

The only positive is that the Roman Catholic Church is not involved. If it was up to the Pope they would gild the whole interior with gold and spend millions painting frescos on the ceilings.

I think a lot of people would be interested in the experiment of actually recreating the biblical ark with specific list of animals (huge debate) that would live a year or so on a closed ark.
This is not that experiment. This project is an amusement park. The intent is for people to come, have fun in a setting that comforts them, and avoid conflict, etc. Just like at Disney World - everything is clean, safe, and no one is angry or gets hurt. This place will be as separated from the real world as possible. I will be curious to see how far they go in the message. Will they be content to say "This is what we believe" or will they preach against the scientific consensus? I haven't been to the Creation Museum. Does anyone know if they just present their views? Do they ignore the scientific consensus, rebut a strawman version, or crusade against evil scientists (complete with sneering caricatures)? Personally I expect that the place will make a profit, that they will try to weasel out of as much of the taxes as they can, and that they will get state money and incentives. Kentucky is a conservative state so anything that brings in money and supports the views of a vocal voting group will get state support. On a different tack -To me, this project seems to be part of the trend of many believers to separate themselves into a society parallel to the general population. What happened to being in the world but not of the world to be an example of a believer?

You can take a virtual tour of the bad joke called a "creation museum" here. Judge for yourself. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

The Bible says that iron was available:

It will be more like a false-front Western town on a movie lot than an actual reconstruction. "I'm Rory Bellows, I tell you! The earliest iron finds date 1800 bce in india And i doubt they where making huge metal plates for the hull or I beams for support. And it was an expensive metal at the time found in jewlery.

DavidOH, while I agree KY is one of the more conservative states, the Creation Museum was still met with huge opposition. They had to change the location more then once for stupid reasons.
I'm not going to try and debate anyone here on the buoyancy of an ark described in the Bible or whatnot. I would only like to point out that there has been some comments made in ref to "shouldn't the money be spent on more useful endeavors"?? This project, whether one agrees or not with it, will help that local economy in a tremendous way. Over 900 jobs will be created because of this project. Can't really say that's a bad thing and it certainly is helping people out, in an economic way I mean.

Hi, Dr A.
Dr Adequate writes: Which would also be the case if they spent the money on building a hospital. Please don't encourage them to build any more hospitals in this area. I'm one of the roughly 33% of the population of Lexington that isn't associated with the medical field in some way. Honestly, I would rather have Noah's Ark than 900 more medical professionals in this area. -Bluejay (a.k.a. Mantis, Thylacosmilus) Darwin loves you.
