I just wanted to point out that the scientific creationist are wrong. The bible does not say anything about the age of the earth.
The first part of the bible clearly shows that the earth could have existed as a barren place several billions of years before the first day started.
Allso it isn't necesarry a 24 hour period meant when the word day is mentioned. In many other places the word day is used very loosely. Like when it says that a day for god is 1000 years for us for exampel.
So why are the creationist so stuck on the eart being only 6000 years old and the days being litural ? They have a very easy passage here that is valid and would propably atract more people to them.
The bible does say that humans have only existed for 6000 years however. But the oldest known text are only 5000 years old. As for the oldest known civilisation. So the C14 method can very easily be wrong ( Allthough it should be discussed in other threads)
So why are the creationist sticking to the old view when there are more views that are in harmony with what most scientist believes today ?

Still on hold, but something for you to look at
You've put out quite a few proposed new topics, many/most/all of which have significant quality problems per getting promoted. Plus, if they were all promoted you would find yourself in an overloaded situation.
We have member Buzsaw (currently inactive), who takes a similar position to what you are doing in this topic. He deemed himself a old Earth/young life creationist. My non-admin mode did a bit of a one-on-one "Great Debate" about this perspective. You might want to look at What variety of creationist is Buzsaw? (Minnemooseus and Buzsaw only).
