inflation, big bang, many miles to go ..
teen15 --
not to disparage, but this is so far off of where the cosmological theory (known as the standard model) is that I don't know where to begin.
I recommend some reading and suggest some google on {guth inflation big bang} and {big bang alternatives} and {brane theory}
one of the ones you should come across from the first is
Inflationary Cosmology
which is fairly accessible to a layman understanding (no heavy math)
and one of the ones you should come across from the second is
Big Bang Alternatives
which tells you that it isn't all milk and honey.
one of the other theories that has gotten a fair bit of press lately is
'Brane-Storm' Challenges Part of Big Bang Theory
ekpyrosis model of cyclic universes from membranes colliding in an extra dimensional hyper-universe.
open eyes see far.
enjoy.

Re: Big Bang Problem
Very interesting question. You see that universe was born with reversal of the roatational sense in the singularity acording to Eugene Savov's theory of interaction. This reversal removes the singularity and so we exist. The retrograde motions of planets and moons, according to this theory are explained in the same way as the opposite directions of the Jupiter's wind belts. Simply the underlying structure has alternating inward and outward 3D-spiral swirlly motions.

steady state looks like fun...
...it would suggest a pre big bang universe as a bubble that started to inflate at the speed of light while being embedded in another medium. It would then suggest that spactime didn't inflate to infinity but still is expanding into the medium such that lots of little bangs are happening at the frontiers and converting nothing to something. It also suggest that energy/matter is constantly being produced and consumed and may take the form of very thin dense tendrils rippling back, forth and across spacetime and that evidence of these tendrils are black holes that work in reverse to what's happening at the frontier converting something to nothing and sending it back to the frontiers thus balancing the whole expanding spherical bubble membrane
now if the medium outside the still inflating universe were the 5th dimension/singularity/nothingness then we could combine all 3 models, inflationary big bang, branes and steady state especially if all physical laws breakdown at the frontier and in the pre big bang singularity and also inside a black hole
Combining all 3 models would still allow for the possibility of more bubble membraned universes to be embedded beyond the 5th dimension/singularity/nothingness to another universe and beyond that a 6th dimension because seeing as how the presence of a universe vibrating at a different rate would change the initial medium then that would constantly allow for different dimensions and universes ad infinitum
not only that but it discounts the need for God yet, though I like the whole concept of an intelligent design cos that would mean black holes exist exactly where they need to be to maintain equlibrium and also because it removes anything ever having happened or will happen by chance ie... by random fluctuation
hmmmmm....needs work but i got time on my side...heh heh, though not enuff to do the study and maths so I'll just leave it to those that do and keep having fun visualising it
but anyway, ever noticed how the skin/membrane of a bubble swirls around surely that would account for counter and clock wise spin...
...as you were

Your stairing into the black box of cosmology and haveing bubbles of pure thought...Quantum physics is nothing more than a way to get what you want by haveing no limits to the imagination or proven laws.

there was a big bang?
How does anyone anywhere ever know that there ever was a so
called big bang?
Were they there?
The Bible was written sooooo long ago,so why was there no mention,
of evolution then, except for those among the pagans and occults?
Even then, there was no actual mention of things evolving. Why Not?
satan is the liar and the deciever.
satan is behind all of the lies in this world.
when did things evolve and why is there no evidence of it?
Monkeys still act and look like monkeys.Humans have been around for
a very long time.I haven't heard of one human who has evolved over the time the bible was written or now.
If evolution is a slow process,it must be extemely slow, and why isn't
there any evidence?
The book of Job mentions huge animals,so we can expect to find large
skeletal remains as being possible, but why hasn't anything been actually proven to support evolution?
Why can't humans and monkeys inter breed?

Were they there?
Do they have to be? Did you know that when you look into the sky, you're looking billions of years into the past?

Re: there was a big bang?
In short: Because the big bang theory has made predictions which has later turned out to be correct.
It is based upon indirect evidence in that no person was around at the time (obviously) but that is not a requirement.

Re: there was a big bang?
Des,
Your first question is appropriate to this forum but the rest of the post has nothing to do with the big bang or cosmology.
I strongly suggest that replies from others concern the first question and not the off topic nature of the rest of this post.

Re: there was a big bang?
could you explain what those predictions are?
The Bible predicts that the antichrist will come someday.
We now have the computer I.D. chip that is being sold to the
public.
The antichrist is also know as the one who pierces.
I'm watching prophecy being fulfilled that the bible said,
would happen.
The big bang idea makes no sense to me.
what will you do if you find out you were wrong?
The New World Order is already forming now.

bang in the sky?
O.k? How do you know this is true, and what scientists did you,
get it from?
Can we all pick and choose which scientists are telling the truth?
I think the stars are different from one another, and the planets,
are too.

Re: bang in the sky?
Several thousand (minimum) astronomers and cosmologists, a couple of whom post on this forum, have spent the last eighty years gathering the information that supports the Big Bang having happened. A half-dozen or so astronomers disagree with the majority interpretation, but new data keeps coming in and is starting to make them look foolish. Any introductory astronomy text written since 1980, or, say, NASA's website on cosmology, will give you bunches of details.
Stars are different from one another. That's part of why there is a whole elaborate classification system for them, with ten major divisions and many subclassifications within each of those.

How do you know this is true
Because the speed of light is not infinite. This can be demonstrated in any college-level physics class (as a number of my friends have done.)
The stars in the sky are not close, but rather, distant objects as massive as our own sun - sometimes moreso. Again this is an observation that anyone with sufficient expertise can make.
Finite speed + extreme distance = a very, very long time for the light of distant events to reach us. The farther away you look, the farther back in time you're looking.
So we don't have to "be there". We can look out and see the light from back then, now.

the past in the sky?
O.K.,has the sky always looked the same,or has it changed?
I am not sure if I understand how the sky relates to the past?
