The latter. Don't make me do it again!

I am for equal federal rights for homosexuals, but, unfortunately gays do not fight for eroding religious freedoms as they do for other rights.
Just so you know, forcing intolerance and bigotry on other people or tying homosexuals up to a fencepost and beating them to death aren't Constitutionally protected religious freedoms. Since that's about all we stop religions from doing these days it's hard to imagine what else you're talking about.

buzsaw recalcitrates:
quote:
I have a friend who's wife is quite a bit more intelligent than he so he leaves more decision making to her. Nevertheless, she, being also a Biblical Christian honors his leadership role to the greatest extent possible.
Meaning you have a friend who's really stupid. If his wife is more intelligent that he is yet she still submits to his will, she's a doormat. So your friend is dumber than a doormat?
quote:
Men are, for the most part better at decision making.
Do you have any evidence at all to back up this oafish, bigoted, sexist statement? No, of course you don't. All you have is your stupid bible to do your thinking for you.
quote:
The children are better off when there os one head of the family...
Again, where's the evidence? Again, there isn't any! Stop making stupid statements unless you can back them up with something other than your silly bible. The bible doesn't provide evidence for much of anything except for the lack of civility and brutishness of the men who wrote it.
quote:
The Quran teaches that brutality and cruelty to women is fine and dandy...
How is that different from the bible?

Very opinionated, Christian woman, who just happens to be overworked at the moment. I just taught a section on this last week, so I'm well prepared to debate, I just don't have any time. If you give me about three days (I graduate this weekend. Yeah!) I'll take it up for the Christian women if no one else does.

Whats apparent in this response is exactly what I originally claimed in the reply Dan responded to - that certain segments will not fight for everyones rights, which ultimately provides the precedent needed to deny your/all rights.
Feigning questions about rights losses is a blatant denial of the nature of government and its patronizing loyalty to the Constitution.

Men are, for the most part better at decision making.
C'mon Buz. We've been over this and you have to know that's just not true. It's proven fact that testosterone makes you much, much more likely to take stupid risks. Who do you think is more likely to cock something up? A brash, impulsive teenage boy or his bookish sister?
The fact that men tend to set themselves up as decision-makers should not be confused with a greater ability for making correct desicisions.

That's just bogus. Gay rights groups have no issue with religious rights - except the right that some religious people think they have to tie gay folks up to fences and beat them to death.

Again... specifically which rights are you referring to? What religious rights are being taken away?
And secondly, are you suggesting that if people don't fight for everything all at once, they shouldn't fight for anything? Because a quick glance at the past couple centuries should show that that's just silly.
quote:
Feigning questions about rights losses is a blatant denial of the nature of government and its patronizing loyalty to the Constitution.
First of all, I'm not feigning. I honestly don't know of any religious rights that are being taken away, and I'd like you to specify.
Secondly... are you saying now that the government shouldn't be obeying the Constitution?

Congrats on the Graduation! I look forward to your post. The christian women are not to be found in this thread so far... Maybe their husbands told them they could not play on the computer.

This thing about religious people murdering a gay person reveals your hysterical hatred of christianity. Religious people had nothing to do with that particular crime - it was redneck heterosexuals.
Your quickness to stain religious people reveals that you are not against hate/bigotry - only certain manifestations.
Inability to grasp the principle of government intrusion and removal of anyones rights - erodes everyones rights - is unbelievable for a person of your intelligence.

I have not heard of a single non-religious person that is against homosexuality. The only way you can justify homophobia is resorting to the bible and interpret it in your own sick way.

so then does homosexuality and hysteria have comparable "projections"? and if so why would there be then no way to 'balance' this?
