We got a password delay happening, but soon (I hope) AdminSylas will be active. He will have moderator powers in all forums, including "Proposed New Topics" and "Suggestions to Proposed New Topics".
For what it's worth, I registered AdminSylas using an extra Yahoo e-mail address I have, with the intent of forwarding him the password when I received it. Registrations was done 3 1/2 hours ago - still no password.

Excellent choice! Sylas will make a great mod.
He is very fair and doesn't get heated. Also, he is good with his computer skills, and therefore can correct our mistakes. Well done Sylas - you're not a christian but nobody's perfect.

AdminSylas Account is Ready
I've email'd AdminSylas his password.
I've updated the AdminSylas email address to be the same as the Sylas account.
On a related note, the new features are nearing completion. There will be a new administrative category called Director. Directors will have the power to perform all board functions.
One step down from Directors will be Administrators. Administrators will have the power to perform all board functions except those which modify or delete the board itself. For example, while Administrators will have the power to restrict posting permissions or issue bans, they will not have the power to delete users. Administrator status will be given to everyone who currently has Moderator status in most of the forums.
One step down from Administrators are Moderators. Moderators will have the same powers as administrators, but only in forums for which they are moderators. This means that Moderators will have access to the board's control panel so they can modify user permissions and issue bans, the same powers as Administrators. But they will only be able to moderate threads in which they have Moderator status, just as now.
Administrators and Moderators have dual accounts at present, and this practice will continue, but the accounts will be linked automatically. Logging in to one account will be as if logged in to both simultaneously. When posting messages both names will be listed with radio buttons to select which one to use. The default will be the account you logged in as. For example, if Sylas logged in as Sylas then he would have access to all the powers of the AdminSylas account, but when posting messages he would be given the option of choosing either Sylas or AdminSylas, but Sylas would be the default. Had he logged in as AdminSylas then AdminSylas would be the default. With the login capability there will be no need for Directors, Administrators and Moderators to have to type in user IDs and passwords as they switch back and forth between their privileged account and their normal account.

Re: AdminSylas Account is Ready
Thanks folks. I just tried out my new powers by approving a thread asking for the meaning of biblical kinds. Hope I picked the right forum. I'll probably tread lightly; I mostly want to help get new threads approved quickly and easily.
Cheers -- Sylas
PS. Agree on the avatar. I know the new one I want, and just need to get hold of it.

What, a new avatar? Sylas without that scared look? Unthinkable! And the hair! I mean, Sylas makes a 'bad hair day' look like something you'd actually wish for if you had his hair. Please, Sylas, no.

Is this what you were after, perchance?

Silas, I think you will be fair and balanced in your new role. I'm sure it's time consuming and your willingness to do that for us all is much appreciated.

Excellent choice for a new admin! Within Sylas' first couple of posts, I had him pegged as the next logical choice for the role.

Congratz Sylas!!
There definately seem to be a lot more mods these days, still a pity that there aren't more creationist mods.

Freedom, morality, and the human dignity of the individual consists precisely in
this; that he does good not because he is forced to do so, but because he freely
conceives it, wants it, and loves it.
- Mikhail Bakunin, God and the State, from The Columbian Dictionary of Quotations
