and online display.
There is a site called fototime at No webpage found at provided URL: www.fototime.com devoted to hosting pictures and animations for display purposes.
It is not a free site but the cost is less than $30.00US per year.
It has very, very good software for managing (not manipulating) images and can also be used to hold amimated and moving images. It has a high bandwidth connection and over the last several years has proven to be very reliable.
One of the best features, IMHO, is that it will automatically create links in three formats, the original size, a uniform size designed to display efficiently on the Web and small thumbnails. These can be used in a variety of ways to enhance a post.
Here are some examples.
A Thumbnail
The standard image
And the original

Trust me on this one
while photobucket is free, the differences betwen the two are well worth the costs. Voice of experience having used both.
But it is good to have a list (that the admins by using their awesome supernatural powers) might pin, of sites and our experiences with them.

Re: Trust me on this one
Still, free is within my price range. I am one of those that would rather get bad service for free stuff than having to pay for good service. What do you expect? I'm a starving college student.
A few months back, I was invited to go to a scholarship recognition dinner. Too bad I already had something planned for that night. I am still crying over that... missing free food like that.

Aaahhhhh.... those are really nice. But, of course, I have another free site that is kick-ass- ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs (I'm new, but I hope live links are allowed).
