Yes, the system is clunky. Proposers of new topics, not yet advanced to debate, need to monitor the Suggestions to Proposed New Topics forum.
Right now, I'm using the one topic, the Grand Unified 'Suggestions to Proposed New Topics' topic, instead of starting individual topics in that forum. I have proposed that the "StPNT" forum be opened up to postings by topic proposers. That topic is here.

Admin,
I can't edit my proposed topic. Is it too late now?

Admin,
Still don't work. Perhaps should I post a new topic and you delete the old one?

Given the recent changes, this may be a bug - let me take a quick look.

Re: closed topic (not ready yet)
Okay, Denesha, you can edit that post now.
Moose - I had to change the forum permissions. I had set it so that only board administration could post replies, and the software checks if you're allowed to reply before allowing you to edit. This may require some tweaking of the software, let me know what you think you really need.

my islam thread. to defend my post about most muslim nations having a democracy (which i need to change to 'legitimate respectable government similar to those we ally with') by listing muslim nations and posting a link on muslim nations and their government type and "democracy score"

I've been outa town all day and just got home a tad ago. I've finished reading most of the Islam thread and all I see for refutation of Jabela's most interesting and informative posts is baseless criticism. I request it be reopened so as for some of us who where unable to post to respond. He's done his homework and his critics haven't, imo. He's gone to a lota work to contribute to this thread and it's a shame to shut it down so soon.

How about a move?
Now that Professionalism or Prejudice? has been closed, how about moving the chapters I posted regarding the discussion of my assertions about the myth of macroevolution to a more appropriate forum or perhaps you would consider beginning a new thread in a new topic where the discussion of whether or not macroevolution is true science, and where the discussion concerning the large number quotes from scientists that question whether the study of macroevolution stands up as a true science would be more appropriate. Perhaps then I could transfer those first five chapters to that thread. I have to replies to chapter 5 which I am unable to respond to in the Professionalism or Prejudice?.
Many thanks in advance,
DarkStar

The theory of evolution is a viable theory, absent the myth of macroevolution.
Once the myth of macroevolution is included, the viability of the theory of evolution vanishes as it slowly evolves into just another example of an implausible story,
nestled amongst the numerous fairytale's of our youth.-----DarkStar

Re: How about a move?
That topic is a big mess.
Propose a topic to discuss your collection of quotations. I suggest the title DarkStar's Collection of Quotations.
Pick one quote out of the bunch, and the discussion will start with it. I would think that including the quotation source (book, article, or webpage, etc.) and a little bio information on the quoted might be a very nice touch. Of course, one of the first things you'll be challenged on, is the context of the quotation.
After a while we can move on to another quote.
Perhaps it would be best to have a new topic for each quotation. That way we would have mini-topics with very specific themes.
Please keep to a stardard message format, or I'll probably get very cranky.
I ask of the other admins, that I have control over the advancings of the proposed topics.

Advancing?
I presume you mean this specific series of threads regarding DS's quotes.
I do have another suggestion for DS. It would seem reasonable for you to interpret the quote you supply. That is, what do you think it is saying; what is the significance of that and why do you think the individual said it.
