Anybody know where I can find hominid skull photos, basal view? I am doing a small research on foramen magnum positions in hominids. Most pics on the internet provides only lateral & frontal view of skulls. plz reply ASAP!!

Great info! There's one bad link in the article, the one to the dorsal view. It references "Backview.jpg", and it should actually be all lowercase, "backview.jpg". --Percy

btw the article's actually from a creationist who's ready to admit that hominid fossils are actual transitional forms! Surprise, surprise! However, his explanation is strange, though, he consider them as results of paleo-perverts making babies with apes...

Sorry, Andor. I don't find foramen magnum positions there. The skulls just rotate on one axis--no basal view there.

Dr Lee Spetner also wrote the book Not by Chance. A logical discussion about mutations and maths.

If the theory of evolution was not present then what would these transilitional fossils be? Variation? Mutations? or breeding between to different speices?

I am beginning to get *very* leary and weary when not wary of the whole "transitional" form (fossil or not) thing. I NEVER had a problem with feeling that i had to *buy* into the whole "chain-of-being-"thing when thinking of Kant's notion of the ass with or Without Darwin's wedge taxonomy etc etc. Since the Chinese had thought of chains of transitable organics before its philosophy matured to the present day and given that this philosophical difference was not solved OR realized when I went to Cornell in the 80s and continues beyond the millenium bug not as the insect it was but some labeling on me having gotton as far as not knowing whether I, BSM, enter this "Flow" at discovery or search... I can not but *think* that this is just the St.Hilliare invocation of the "platypus" for any organic nature expressed by a human. Call me a fossil or a dinosaur but I just dont see what all the hypela is all about. There IS something of this "type". Look if ants can decieve humans maybe aliens crawled into the soft parts of Cambrain invertebrates and the Raliens are correct. I think this is Speilberg but where am I allowed to park? no ware... Apparently my truck is only allowed to sit on the crack between two fossil reconstructions. I give up.
