The debate at is usually polarized to being between the Young Earth Creationists / Young Age Creationists (YEC/YAC) and those who think the YEC/YAC position is badly in error (generally referred to as the "evolutionists").
I was inspired to start this topic, when I read degreed's message at:
http://EvC Forum: Interesting Questions for Christians -->EvC Forum: Interesting Questions for Christians
This made me wonder where degreed fell in the spectrum of creationism. Looking at some of his/her other posts, I found this one:
( http://EvC Forum: Questions Creationists Never Answer-still waiting! -->EvC Forum: Questions Creationists Never Answer-still waiting! ),
to which Schraf replyed to in:
( http://EvC Forum: Questions Creationists Never Answer-still waiting! -->EvC Forum: Questions Creationists Never Answer-still waiting! ).
There Schraf asked degreed:
quote:
Hmm. Maybe first you could explain what stripe of creationist you are. OEC? ID? How literally do you interpret Genesis/the Bible?
What do you believe?
So, degreed(?) and others, of a more moderate creationist stripe (not YEC/YAC fundimentalist literalists), here's a special place for some comments from you.
I also have a theisistic(sp??) evolution topic somewhere.

I think this is the one I had in mind:
A Christian (and creationist)'s condemnation of "Creation Science"
at:
http://EvC Forum: A Christian (and creationist)'s condemnation of "Creation Science" -->EvC Forum: A Christian (and creationist)'s condemnation of "Creation Science"
At that topic, after some illumination by Brad, I added (in message 3) the question:
quote:
Is the extreme fundimentalist interpretation more harmful to Christianity and creationism, than just accepting old earth evolution as being God's process of creation?

OK, I found another topic I previously started.
It's "Theistic Evolution"
at:
http://EvC Forum: Information -->EvC Forum: Information
Maybe heavy redundancy is setting in - Might have to kill this here topic - Let's see what happens.
I think I drank too much coffee, and my two active brain cells are arguing,
