Crimes Against Logic I'm a little over half way through this book but I can highly recommend it. It discusses many logically fallacies that creep into debates and modern media. It was released in the UK first as Bad Thoughts: A Guide to Clear Thinking. It was just recently released here in the US. Anyone else reading it? thanx PM1K

Re: Topper?
Is it Topper or Harvey in disguise? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Re: Topper?
Can't be Topper. Where's Neil? Not only that, has to be George then. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Re: Topper?
Ok, I admit I was scratching my head on this one until I googled it. Gave me a good chuckle. Quite clever PM1K

Any discussion of the following? Otherwise might as well close the topic.

Re: Message 1 replay
I've finished this book and recommend it even more highly. The biggest eye opener for me was this book's discussion of the Motive Fallacy. I know I've fallen for this one. I'll have to watch myself now. Just because a person has bad motives, doesn't mean that their plan is automatically bad. Good ideas can come from bad motives just as bad ideas can come from good motives. The idea should be evaluated on it's own merits not the intentions of it's creator. If you're well versed in argument logic this book is not for you. This book is more closely intended for those new to debating or those that want to be able to identify fallacies in popular media. I was very happy with it. More Logically Stable PM1K

Re: Topper?
I'm such an old timer I had even forgotten Topper and how much I loved the movie and the tv show when I was a kid. But it was George and Marion that were invisible not Cosmo Topper. lfen
