Exactly. He has to be told in plain language how evolution makes perfect sense from the standpoint of things he is familiar with such as pesticides. Somebody who knows more about it then I might be able to explain how, for example, pesticides after awhile sometimes cease to work because of the development of immunities in insects due to natural selection.
I was thinking also about Misconceptions about Science, which I am learning about a little here.
Sometimes the science popularizers need to explain what science DOESN'T know, that science is concerned with being able to predict the behavior of things rather than understanding what these things actually are: such as space-time, gravity, mind, and energy.
