Just a small point here Silas, Tired light is still alive and kicking and doing very well thank you. In Tired light, we say that the Universe is static and that redshifts are caused by photons of light interacting with electrons in Intergalactic Space on the way.
In the Big bang Theory, the Hubble constant, H is the rate at which the Universe is expanding. An oft quoted value for H is 64 km/s per Mpc and this is found from supernova data.
However, these are strange units so let us change them to SI units;
64 km/s per Mpc is 2.06x10^-18 s^-1.
I show on my site that this is just about exactly equal to ‘hr/m for the electron in each cubic metre of space’. (h = planck constant, r = classical radius of electron and m = rest mass of electron)
hr/m per cubic metre of space = 2.05x10^-18 s^-1.
Tired Light says that redshifts and the Hubble constant are due to photons interacting with electrons in intergalactic space.
Experiment shows that the value of H is ‘this much of an electron (hr/m) in each cubic metre of space.
What more do you want.
Tired Light.
The Universe is not expanding.
Cheers Lyndon
Ashmore’s paradox — ‘H = hr/m per cubic metre of space therefore the Universe is not expanding’.

Worked for AdminSylas, works for me also

I tried to edit and move the first of the tired light posts to a new topic but it, again, did not work. It seems to be that it is an adequate OP.
It could be proposed as is I think.
As noted in subtitle, it worked fine for AdminSylas, to start the real Tired Light topic.
It also worked fine for me, to start this topic.
Why is AN having problems?

Nosy
Can you tell us more about what happens?
What error do you get?
What steps do you go through?
Where in the process does it fail?

Re: Worked for AdminSylas, works for me also
From Tired Light:
This thread began life as Message 121 of the Whats the Fabric of space made out of? thread. --Admin
I was mistaken, in thinking AdminSylas had made the message move / topic creation. Apparently it was actually Admin/Percy.
Might it be that the method is only working for Directors? Have any of the Administrators successfully used the method to create a new topic?

Added by edit:
BTW, I personally don't like the method. I think it should be used most sparingly. I would have preferred that Lyndon Ashmore had created and run his own message through the "Proposed New Topics" procedure.

Steps
I may not be pressing the right buttons.
I edit the post I want to move.
I pick a different forum next to the "Post as a new Tread"
I press the "post as new thread button"
It comes back to where I was at the original post. I do a "All Topics" list and there is no new thread. There are no errors I have noticed.

Re: Steps
Okay, though that might be the issue.
You just need to continue one more step. Once it brings you back to a new edit screen hit submit.

Re: Steps
Did you edit the topic title, to give it a new title?
Admin and I both did, in our efforts.
Maybe the system wants a new topic title.

If it's not the first message
you do need to provide a new title.

Shouldn't this discussion be happening in the Private Admin Forum?
We're not doing a very good job of hiding that we don't know what we're doing?

Re: Worked for AdminSylas, works for me also
BTW, I personally don't like the method. I think it should be used most sparingly. I would have preferred that Lyndon Ashmore had created and run his own message through the "Proposed New Topics" procedure.
Just let's be careful not to blame Lyndon for this. It is normal for threads to diverge, and he was simply responding to my earlier claim (in Message 105 that tired light was dead in the water. He's a new user, with a first post of considerable interest and also relevant to the message he followed. I don't think he did anything wrong. Admins can come in to help users keep threads focussed, and facilitate new threads as needed; but there is no warrant in this instance to chastise anyone; the new thread should be seen as a compliment and the role of admins should be seen as support and help for users.
Comments on how to spawn a thread if required are off topic for this thread. I am posting here because I think it only fair to have this defence in public.
