looks like a forum bug, here's a legit workaround:
That's fair enough. This is technically altering the code:

​
but the resultant code displayed is the same, so morally you've done no wrong.
​
There seems to be a bug with the way the forum handles alt and title attributes which contain urls, specifically www.
​
So if you peek my entry you'll see I use the explicit HTML special character code for the period mark, which 'fools' the forum and maintains the displayed code.
​
