I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to be an atheist and believe in the Big Bang. The original singular mass had to come from some where. And to say it just happened completely bypasses the Law of Thermodynamics that matter can neither be created nor destroyed. The only way to achieve the creation of it is through a higher power. Also, for it to change (the big bang) you must have something to stimulate the change. Example: Water evaporating. If everything came into existence in the Big Bang then there would be nothing to stimulate it.

Rejecting this one right now.
Igor, let's finish your Great Discussion before trying yet another subject where you haven't shown you really even understand the subject. If you want, read through this forum first.

I can wait until I finish my Great Debate. However, the debate you pointed me to is about the science of the Big Bang. My proposed thread on the other hand is meant more as a debate on belief. Proving that atheists that claim to believe in the Big Bang are in fact being hypocritical. You may not be able to tell that from what I said because it was a little bit jumbled around. My apologies for the misinterpretation.

    A simplistic arguement
I'm afraid, Igor, that your arguement is simply a GotG (god of the gaps) arguement. You are suggesting that athiests can't accept the big bang because it is not known what kicked it off and what came before.
The big bang happened, there is too much evidence for it. Where it came from isn't. Bringing the law of thermodynamics into it shows that you, as Jar suggests, do not understand the science involved at all. You should probably avoid topics that you know nothing at all about until you are ready to ask questions and understand (to the degree that those of us who aren't physicists can) the answers.
If there is something unknown it is hardly an athiest that would think that a god has to be put forward as the explanation. They would know from history that this has been a bad idea in the past.
