Re: Magic Mythological Biggie-sized Flood
I have not disputed the rate of water movement, which you'd know if you paid attention. My argument is that no matter what the rate is NOW, there is no evidence from that fact that it has always been that way, if for instance at one point the aquifer was unconfined, and volcanic action subsequently sealed it off.

Re: question
The argument is strictly for a physical upheaval of some sort. There are evidences of asteroids striking the earth, or volcanic activity, and plate movements. What you need to do is establish that evidence exists around the date you want(was it 4500 bce?) that some sort of upheaval happened. Can you point to datable geologic formations that would be at that time and demonstrate an upheaval? lfen

Re: Magic Mythological Biggie-sized Flood
volcanic action subsequently sealed it off. Well, you would need to date the volcanic flows, then. lfen

Re: Magic Mythological Biggie-sized Flood
My argument is that no matter what the rate is NOW, there is no evidence from that fact that it has always been that way, if for instance at one point the aquifer was unconfined, and volcanic action subsequently sealed it off. But that would leave evidence that could be clearly identified. And many confined aquifers do not have a confining layer formed by magma. So either way there will be evidence of what happened in the past and how water flow was affected. I don't see that your position of no evidence of the past hydrology is supported in any way.

Were the Volcanos active in Georgia and Florida 4500 years ago? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Re: rat time
I was told 3 miles down in the earth, near the shore line. Inland would be much deeper, and they can't go that far yet. If the government would invest a little money into the technology, we could. Then we could have basically free electric power.

Next time you open the lid of a septic test, tell me whether you would call it dye, or die.

Re: tritium
Thanks for the correction Mangy.... You are of course correct. I can't believe I forgot that. Amazing what 10 years removal will do to one's chemistry knowledge I stand corrected and a bit ashamed hehehe
