You helped someone heroically. Nothing heroic about it. He drank a lot and had thrown up and it was about as unheroic a situation as is imaginable.
You gave purpose to this absurdity. Really? What purpose. He died less than 15 miutes later. Hint: There is a purpose in there but so far it seems unlikely you will find it. You did what Jesus would have done. Yeah right. Jesus was well known for halfassed miracles and giving folk hope then snatching it away. LOL
And in an environment of mediocrity, where the taken-advantage of, the satisfied, the vast majority, the decieved, the lied to, the slaves to the system reside. YadaYada.

quote: I've been a butcher, a solider, I've been a student and I've been a teacher. I've loved, I've lost, I've been saved and I've been lost. I've traveled the globe starting with with $200 in my pocket and a small backpack. Let me get this straight - You've never worked, you've never been anywhere, you've never done anything? What is it you plan to teach me about life and how I should live? What is you plan to teach Jar et al? Everyone had a right to speak but don't be surprised when people laugh at your (not very) "profound" statements. Edited by CK, : No reason given.

While you're soaking in the rays of mediocrity, I'll be attempting to change the world.
I hold some hope for humanity. Never realized people would so staunchly defend conformity. boggles the mind......

Everybody slips into mediocrity. Actually, most of us don't have to "slip." We're already there. I like to think that I have risen into mediocrity, but events keep proving my wrong.

It's hard for someone who has been desensitized by the system to think outside of it, I am in an ideal position it seems to present my ideas, to all of whom have entered it already. Well, Neo, in the real world which has actual consequences attatched to our decisions. You seem to have irritated just about everyone with your arrogance. Are we all just desensitized by the system and you are the budding genius that sees beyond our capacity or is it that you might not have a grasp on the real world? You make life seem like its a warm, gentle breeze when its anything but.
Although I am sure that I could design a well developed society without the horrible elements that exist within modern society, that was not at all the point of my first post. So, you honestly think that you've thought of a system devoid of pitfalls that have gripped all nations in every era? You think you've cornered the market on a system that no one has ever thought of? Could you lay out your master plan for us? “It is in vain, O' man, that you seek within yourselves the cure for all your miseries. All your insight has led you to the knowledge that it is not in yourselves that you will discover the true and the good.” -Blaise Pascal

you once said you read Siddhartha.
I wanted to tell you all to leave that place, but it is safe, and simple. I now ask you to go back a moment and remember some of the lessons that book taught. You might remember a recurrent idea in that novel. When leaving the (forest nomads, can't remember their name, but I think it begins with a v), Siddhartha makes a comment. When meeting the Buddha, who his friend Govinda later joins, you might remember a specific comment made to the Buddha. At the end, you might remember a specific comment made to Govinda (unsure about last one). In each place, the idea is this--you cannot teach to others what you have learned.why else must one go through the trials of life to finally, after so much times "wasted", one finally finds the true purpose in life. Wouldn't be easier if their was a prophet who could teach the way? No one can though--you have to learn ON YOUR OWN. this is why Siddhartha left the (forest dwellers), why he left the Buddha, why he left his father. What they taught, could only be learned by experience. And experience cannot be handed down. so while you can try to tell everyone the way, it will do no good. For they must learn the way on their own. this is one of the most important lessons of the book--ironic, considering the book is trying to teach us that, but it cannot be taught. just wanted to remind you of that. All a man's knowledge comes from his experiences

OK, let's see the design for " a well developed society". I'll just settle for a definition of it. It matters not if that was the point of your first post, you have said it now back it. ps. you no more live "outside society" than a baby in the woumb. There was a time I was as wise as you but time has her ways.

He could serve as an impetus to the enlightening of an individual.
That is all one could ask for. Siddhartha Gautama and Jesus Christ did share with humanity. Edited by -messenjah of one, : typo

Not to be another one getting on your back Prophex - for the simple reason that me (along with those who are doing so), once thought in not dissimilar fashion to yourself. But it is as Paul Weller once wrote - when he was in the transition period between were you are and were we are now.
quote: Naturally the 'they' he refers to are subject to the exact same thing of which he spoke. An glitch in his thinking which he would no doubt correct were he writing it today. Otherwise, reasonably nail on the head stuff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDipaj-hUIc&mode=related&... And one day the music videos you look at now will appear as dated. What they sing of will be precisely the same. Truly there is nothing new under the sun - says the teacher. Edited by iano, : No reason given.

I don't care about the benefits, you can have mine. Then you don't care much about human life. Don't be so selfish and omit yourself from the human race, because Jesus said so, or whatever. We are to love one another, and by exchanging and sharing benifits, like your music, or mine, we can do just that.

It's hard for someone who has been desensitized by the system to think outside of it, I am in an ideal position it seems to present my ideas, to all of whom have entered it already. LOL. Desensitized? Is that what they call life lessons nowadays? You think that the system is chaotic and oppresive and you can change things for the better by presenting your ideas. The difficulty with ideas is that they useless unless implemented. You also unskillfully avoided answering even one of my questions to you. Although I am sure that I could design a well developed society without the horrible elements that exist within modern society, that was not at all the point of my first post. I doubt you could even manage to explain how you could merely feed people without someone having to do the meaningless labour you claim is so oppresive. As to the point of your first post I refresh your recall with a quote from it "There would be no occupations, no jobs, no pre-destined purposes, which never never never are what anybody ever thought for themselves to do with their lives" Now please square your claim of being able to design a well developed society with one in which no jobs or occupations exist. I think you are fooling yourself but I would honestly like you to defend your ideas.
It sounds like someone has you tied down, and throughout the years he has convinced you that it is the best that way, you seem to love it in fact. I am indeed tied down and unable to simply do as I want. Such is the price of decisions made freely and responsibilties accepted freely. I am the father of children I produced and cannot claim that the world is unfair simply because the personal cost is always mine to bear.I do however enjoy my life such as it is because my happiness is not dependent upon others opinions of me. Sorry for the short reply but I felt that most of it was already addressed, and what you were saying was inside the box, physical world, bullshit. So you say, yet the challenge remains. Walk your talk. Ideals are as worthless as snake-oil if you cannot achieve them.
