because of anglagards comments, I took a new picture. Little bit difficult--using a built in webcam to take them.anywho, the original avater was a JPEG, which was accepted.
when I tried switching, it forced me to do a GIF in order for the change to actually take place. And I'd much rather use the JPEG version--better quality and within size limits.anyone got a clue as to why, when updating my avatar, it refused to recognize the change until I used a different fily type?(I know the first was JPEG because it, and GIF, are the ony ones small enough. And you see the quality of the GIF that I've now. first one has much better quality)

that pattern is due to the GIF being shrunk. My first was a JPEG, but when I changed to this better one, I was forced to use the GIF. I'm going to try later with another JPEG, and hopefully that'll work.
