EvC has well over 3000 members. If only 5% of our members contributed to the World Community Grid we could contribute so much more.
If you look at the list of people who are contributing, one fact pops out. Those contributing are mostly the Atheists and Agnostics. It is the Atheists and Agnostics that are carrying the load with a small spattering of Liberal Christians and general Theists. What IS missing are all the vocal Biblical Christians. Come on all you Christians here at EvC. Here is a chance to actually do something for the least of these instead of simply preaching platitudes. Here is a chance to actually help fight MDA. Here is a chance to actually help fight Aids. Here is a chance to take part in the research that may help find new drugs to fight diabetes and other crippling diseases. For 2007 let's see if we can get some help from all of you Christians. Join the effort. These are all great projects, projects that may help everyone, Theist, Agnostic and Atheist alike. Let's set a goal of 50 years of computer time generated in 2007 and over 50,000 results returned. It costs nothing. It takes almost no effort on your part. Let's see if during 2007 Team EvC can double what we contributed last year. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

I resolve to get 3.6 or higher this semester in College! And next semester too... since that's part of the same year

Dialup actually works just fine Jon.
How the World Wide Grid works does not require a full time connection. What happens is you download the computation application to your machine. The application then contacts the Grid and gets a piece of work when you are online. It works on that piece on your machine, in the background and only when you are not using the machine for other services. The next time you get on the net it checks in with the Grid, uploads any results and gets some more work. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

My resolution:
To loosen my grip on the inexpedient, unimportant, non-essentials; to stop, think, breathe, and relax when stress and other undesirables are insufferable. It's one thing to manifest a resolution, and an entirely different beast to carry it through. Cheers.

My resolutions:
Floss every day. Jog 3 days a week. That's enough!

several years ago, i found that new years resolutions were nothing but a source of trouble for me. i'd never keep to them, and it'd just make me feel like crap. like there was something about me that i needed to change.
so one year, i resolved to never again make a new years resolution. so far, i've kept that one. and it's done wonders.

Very good point Arach!
Many people make bold pronouncments about how they are going to turn over a new leaf etc. Most of these life changes can be best achieved incrementally. I undertake to make about 10 incremental changes in my life over the next 10 months; starting with having a smaller lunch (it's normally a fat mans feast!).

Can we change them? My new one is to never again invent my own "stirfry" recipes! (vomit emoticon)!
Behold... the washing effects of rum and cider!

I am not making any news years resolutions. I made a resolution about 15 years ago not to make any more new years resolutions, and I have kept that resolution for once.

Jon writes: Of course. Keep in mind, though, that changing them on January 2 does not do New Years any justice. Seeing as how many of us are inebriated on January 1st, however, I suppose that the first week in January can be considered a window of opportunity! Can we change them? By the second week we should all be getting serious! I stopped by the health club and noticed that the place is incredibly packed for the first few weeks of the New Year. I will report back and tell everyone how many resolves continued jogging on the stair master come February 1st! Edited by Phat, :

I resolve to live harder and faster. I want to be used up when I die. I don't want someone to look in my casket and say "he looks good".
