Creationists like to point to all the different flood myths as evidence of a global flood ....
And the most obvious reason for the near universality of flood myths escapes creationists entirely. Most all civilizations occur near to water sources capable of producing floods locally. This scarcely qualifies as evidence for the individual myths as referencing a global flood but, merely , a flood devastating to their individual worlds which are the local areas they occupy.
