Re: the Mental Masturbation called Biblical Prophecy
I did show reason. The people writing the Bible knew the difference between a goat and a sheep and they did differentiate between them.
In addition, the whole account is simply an apocryphal tale.
If you wish to accept it then fine, but don't get upset when others just laugh at it.

Good ol' double standard, eh? You don't provide any evidence to back up your lioness/goat claim, but anybody who disagrees with you has to provide irrefutable proof for their claim.
That's the way Biblical prophecy usually works, isn't it?

Re: the Mental Masturbation called Biblical Prophecy
All translations are an "interpretation" of a translation. It is up to the translator to interpret ie choose a word that appears to convey the intended message. Sheep stood in the foreground of mental images because they had a bigger impact on daily life. From sheep comes wool, milk and meat. They were enviromentally sustainable; meaning you can harvest wool and milk and still keep the animal alive. Goats, though important, need to be killed to harvest their warmth.

I'm sorry but that also does not stand up to reason. Goats too produce milk, cheese, and wool.
So not only is it irrelevant to the topic or thread, it is irrelevant to the supposed prophecy, and totally false to boot.

Re: Aliens and the flood
They are not all going to be these "earth shaking" signs that cannot be mistaken. Some are going to be "subtle".
Of course some will be subtle, its kind of a necessity to look for the subtle clues when the earth shaking ones never take place. I remember on my dads farm when one chicken always followed the dogs around. It even slept with them. I was young, so I assumed the chicken was stupid, instead you suggest it was a message?
Last year a wildlife photographer in Africa witnessed a female lion that saved a young goat (lamb) when its mother had been killed.
Certainly an odd case.
The lioness protected the lamb from other lions for about two weeks before she was distracted and the lamb was killed.
What happened to the lioness? I mean, before one declares this a "mini miracle" I think it begs the question of the fitness of the lioness. Was this animal fit and healthy? Did it mate and produce offspring? Could it have been the lion equivalent of stupid?
Whether you like it or not it fullfills Scriptural Prophecy.
A prophecy was fulfilled and only one witness! Typical. Billions of people looking for answers and it comes when only one person was looking. It is also somewhat anticlimactic - The poor lamb goat kid got eaten.
no "distinction" between sheep or goat, just a member of a flock.
So what you are saying is back then such a fulfillment would make sense to someone who witnesses these mini-miracles, but a person today would see it as a simple oddity. You see, today we do make such distinctions.
The Bible also says all will be understood before the end. Nothing is incorrect. It's meaning is better understood.
Are you taking this statement back? You made it in message 80 and it does not seem to apply in this case. Does it only apply to aliens and not to lions who forget to eat goats?

Re: Aliens and the flood
Biblical scholars are looking all the time for signs and post them on the web.
People have been finding signs of the end times for the past 2000 years; what make you think that this time they've got it right?
They are not all going to be these "earth shaking" signs that cannot be mistaken. Some are going to be "subtle". To me the most absurd sign is the one predicting that the lion will lie down with the lamb. Everyone, including me, thought this was going to be an overall change in animal behavior; but not necessarily so. Last year a wildlife photographer in Africa witnessed a female lion that saved a young goat (lamb) when its mother had been killed. The lioness protected the lamb from other lions for about two weeks before she was distracted and the lamb was killed. Everything about this event goes against the natural predator instinct of the lioness. Whether you like it or not it fullfills Scriptural Prophecy.
Regardless of whether sheep are goats (they aren't) the animal adopted by the lioness was in fact an oryx, which is a type of antelope. You've not just got the wrong genus, you've got the wrong sub-family of Bovidae.

Re: Skeptic? You Bet!
How is the Christian God served by believing UFOs are anything but misinterpretations of physical phenomena? Did Jesus preach - believe in everything except science and critical thinking?
IMO your apparent assertion that everything is true except science is a great way to demean the only direct works of God and therefore God herself. Also, when Charlie Manson says he is Jesus and Jim Jones says he is Jesus, how do you choose which one to believe? After all, from what I can gather according to your philosophy, both claims are equally true, as opposed to my skepticism, which says both are equally false.

Biblical Prophecy is not the topic
Can I remind people that this is not the thread to discuss prophecy unless it reelates to extraterrestrials. If anyone wants to discuss whether the incident of the lion and the "lamb" (whether or oryx) is a real prophecy fulfilment - start a new thread.

Its about reaching for the stars, mate. Letting go of the reins, trusting in the wholeness of the Spirit. Let your self fly with the eagles, and transcend through the fogy haze of your senses. Be one, and be at peace. And pass the blunt, don't forget to share.
Jesus didn't say anything about science. He did say watch out for false prophets. So charles manson is a lunatic, and he says he is jesus, well he is innocent until proven guilty. Although you seem to think I lack the ability to use reason and logic because I disagree with you on your silly evolution idea and whatever else you find to pester me about.

IMO, you think I think science isn't true. Well, your a fool for suggesting that. I don't think your pet evolution as origins science is worth two shits on a cracker.

UFOs?
Remarkable lack of UFO content there, HEWG.

Also, have you never heard of Angora, Mohair, and Cashmere fibers?

So you base your statements on the daydreams that you indulge in when you're high? Well, it's a free country, but why do you suppose that anyone else should be interested in your drug-fueled delusions?
Although you seem to think I lack the ability to use reason and logic ...
Yes. I wonder what could have given us that impression?
I don't think your pet evolution as origins science is worth two shits on a cracker.
You remember how I just explained to you that we're not particularly interested in the crazy fantasies that fester in your drug-addled mind?
Well, we're not.

You are as alien to me, as a shit cracker.
So you base your statements on the daydreams that you indulge in when you're high? Well, it's a free country, but why do you suppose that anyone else should be interested in your drug-fueled delusions?
Notice your original question:
How is the Christian God served by believing UFOs are anything but misinterpretations of physical phenomena?
Your stupid question deserves a stupid comment. You foolishly loaded this tacky question with your small minded world views. Your implications taste like a shit cracker (SC). You think your opinion is right and anyone who hints at the supernatural is a quack. You can't accept anything but at face value and your arrogant mocking of anything outside the Adaquate radar is bullshit. Your new name is SC.
Yes. I wonder what could have given us that impression?
Tasteless and snide SC, could you inflate your ego anymore or is your evolution circle jerk causing less SC time?
You remember how I just explained to you that we're not particularly interested in the crazy fantasies that fester in your drug-addled mind?
Well, we're not.
speak for your self SC. Aliens are just other creatures in the galaxy and you are a small small man-child-cracker. Get over it, and stop hiding behind your precious "science".
