Re: behe's university
it's a joke. not a serious critique of the university. as i mentioned above, my university misspelled "university" on every page of its course catalog one year.

These two vids....
Someone did some clever editing on the old Nancy and Ronald Reagan vid we had to watch back when I was in HS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhugHsEE5RI&mode=related&...
And this one, probably funnier to us field biologists:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjTbPtv88sI
Enjoy!
Edited by Lithodid-Man, : Edited to provide a better version of the Reagan vid than provided. original was a cleaner video but did not sync as well

Re: These two vids....
Last one was hilarious.
You don't need to be a field biologist to laugh.
Though, there may be a deeper significance.

He sure isn't talking about the creationists here.

The one that cracked me up made it to my avatar. It is just SOOOO funny, even if they are Lamarckian adapations.

What do you mean "You can't prove a negative"? Have you searched the whole universe for proofs of a negative statement? No? How do you know that they don't exist then?!

"Teach both sides"? Better "SHOW both sides"

Comics
Those are priceless! Sometimes humor can drive home an honest point better than debate ever could!

One for the more sophisticated members...
I must stress that I do not find this funny in the least, and think it is quite juvenile...

Some real crackers from the christian discussion forums (aka CARM)
I think you need to register before you can view these, but it's worth it. Lots of fun to be had there.
This one is about how the earth gains weight every time someone is born:

Q: How many Republican Presidential candidates from 1988 did it take to change a lightbulb?
A: (Dole) When I was a poor boy growing up in Kansas we didn't have light bulbs. Now I have the housekeeper do it.
A: (DuPont) Light bulbs need to be changed? Gosh. I guess the servants have always taken care of that... With a DuPont administration, the power of the free market will be unleashed to produce light bulbs that never need changing.
A: (Robertson) Oh, Lord, with thy divine illumination, heal this light bulb!
A: (Kemp) It's morning in America! Why should we worry about light bulbs? Let those doom-crying Democrats worry about light bulbs! [stumble over chair in the dark].
A: (Haig) One. Snap to it, soldier!
A: (Bush) None. (Bush in an earnest lap dog voice) I resent that question. I've answered it before, and I think the media are keeping this thing alive. I think the American people are TIRED of light bulb jokes.

If only I could set up a delivery company working on that principle- the delivery time is independent of how fast the package travels and is entirely down to the perception of the recipient... I'd be rich!
