Hilarious, even. FYI: the joke is on you. Wouldn't this be considered trolling? " If a body don't wanna hear what you're sayin it don't matter much how you say it" Some hillbilly.

Hill Billy writes: You may or may not have noticed that I respond to different individuals individually. This individual (Dr.A) has accused me of being dishonest and attempted to bait me. Should I ignore this? Perhaps I should, but being human, I incorporate my emotions in my decision making process. Was I being a smartass? I suppose. When in Rome. Obtuse then. That's just it Hill Billy, you erode any point that you may try to make by acting in this way.

That's just it Hill Billy, you erode any point that you may try to make by acting in this way. I suppose you are right. It is out of habit and ego that I try to out smart ass the smart ass. I think it's also true of those who use big words to say small things. Eroding the point that is. See, it's tough for me to carry on a conversation if I gotta keep runnin back to the dictionary. Evidence that "only you can know" cannot also be "verifiable". By definition, for evidence to be verifiable, anyone must be able to observe it. quote: So, we aren't actually talking about "evidence only you can know", then. Is that correct?

You wrote:
quote: Dr. Adequate replies:
No, the better educated feel better educated. That's all. And then you write:
quote: What does this reponse have to do with feeling superior, which you know was the point he was responding to? Nothing, right? See, the above garbage response is what admin will bust you for, since it is just avoidant and irrelevant to the discussion at hand. You know that it is, yet you posted it anyway. I predict you will take another time out very soon.

quote: Of course. We have had an anti-science president in the White House for the last 7 1/2 years. There is a strong grass roots anti-vaccination movement, anti-FDA movement, anti-modern medicine movement, all of which reject science in favor of pseudoscience, quackery, and mysticism.

Today, the person I admire most in this world did what I may admire most.
She apologized. Now it's my turn. I'm sorry. Had I not gotten so darn pissed at Nators thread I likely would never have signed up here. I realize I've pretty much blown any chance of being seen as credible so.... God be with you. " If a body don't wanna hear what you're sayin it don't matter much how you say it" Some hillbilly. |

I find this quote interesting:
This thread is a result of a challenge to prove my belief without using scientific or religious dogma. I won't use it and I won't dispute it because it is irrelevent to the intention. Note that it was not written by the person who started this thread. It was, in fact, written by Paula Rose. I think you got confused as to which thread you were on. In fact, with help from RAZD's forum on trolling, I'm confident that this thread was intended to make people frustrated and upset enough that they'll give up to make it stop, and the methodology is to ask stupid questions that my three-month-old baby could figure out on his own, and to make outrageous claims that are based on nothing but hot air. And, all this just to make perfecty sane and normal people lose their cool and say nasty things about donuts. Maybe, evolutionists, the fact that we've gone after this thread so vehemently proves, at least to a small degree, that the basic premise is not as far off as we think it is.

Hi nator,
nator writes: There is a strong grass roots anti-vaccination movement, anti-FDA movement, anti-modern medicine movement, all of which reject science in favor of pseudoscience, quackery, and mysticism. Last time I checked the medical profession, doctors, hospitals and drug companies had become the number 1 cause of death in the US. Maybe it is time somebody started asking questions. God Bless, "John 5:39 (KJS) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

quote: Incorrect. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US. You know, if you think that modern medicine is so dangerous, you are welcome to live without any medical care at all. Perhaps move somewhere like Zambia where they've never heard of antibiotics. You can have a tribal healer treat you if you get, say, bacterial pneumonia or lymphoma and we'll see how you get along. On the other hand, it is true that the US pretty much sucks when it comes to the administration of healthcare, so it is no surprise that our country ranks low compared to places that place the health of its citizens as a high national priority such as Columbia, Oman, and Costa Rica. So, it isn't "western medicine" per se which we need to be wary of, since all statistics point to the great increase in life expectancy and quality of life that coincides with advances in medical science. It is the fact that the medical industry in the US, thanks to our love of money over principle, is an industry. It is, first and foremost, a money-making enterprise that some in politics want to change while others resist this change.

Nothing, right? I think you may have meant it this way around as Dr inadequate's post had nothing to do with the topic.

Larni writes: Oh come on Hill Billy, 'erode' is a perfectly promulant word. Don't you mean cromulent? Or did you have to switch words now that cromulent is actually entering some dictionaries, thereby no longer being an example of itself. Omigod, even Google Spellcheck accepts cromulent! --Percy
