Re: Thanks ...
Molbiogirl,
As far as I know that is the only treatment. I have to stay awake so I can hold the solution in and I have to lay down, changing position every 15 minutes...belly, side, back, side, etc. This is to make sure the solution coats the whole inside of my bladder.
Thanks for the wishes and fingers and toes!

Well my other resolution is to live forever ...

I was going to say that is mine also.

Any update on your condition?
Me, I'm still in remission, but still low on energy: did one set of Tai Chi yesterday (International Tai Chi day), and was exhausted, particularly in my legs (knees bent in many postures). I really need to get out cycling.
May 31st will be one year from my transfusion\transplant, and I am thinking of doing a 35 mile (57 kilometer) bike ride for it.

Re: checking in.
RAZD, Glad to hear that your remission continues!
I made it through chemo treatments without complications and had a biopsy last Monday, 4/21. I got the results on Friday and no cancer cells were found. I will still have to have periodic chemos and biopsies over the next 3 years, but the news is that I am now a cancer survivor! Life is good and full of possibilities.

Excellent!
Life is good and full of possibilities.
When I got out of hospital I was struck by how green trees were, it was like augmented perception.
Each day is a victory.
Enjoy.

I'm not a cancer survivor yet, but I recognize that green.
Twenty five years ago I survived a terminal diagnosis.
My first ex-hospital spring, I wrote Convalescence:

Today the redbud tree
and the dogwood take the air.
Dandelions rise and blink
above the uncut grass
at Azalea,
bounding over the hill
and blazing with love and relief.
What the body believes is real.

It's great to read about someone who is not willing to give up. My dad got diagnosed two weeks ago and the family is still in shock. Since then I tried to search the internet for mesothelioma but that's all I could find. My dad doesn't want to live with this disease so for me it's very nice to see that some people want to fight. My prayers are with you.

I lost both of my parents this year.
Anyone know where they are?

I'd rather have Cancer than the demons I have to live with. (And I don't mean my parents, who are staying with me right now).

In the moments that I do believe in God again I think that people who have Cancer have usually done something wrong so I hope they die.

mesothelioma
Stephen,
It's great to read about someone who is not willing to give up
Thanks. The kudos really go to the medical experts that every day make cancer less and less of a problem.
My dad got diagnosed two weeks ago and the family is still in shock. Since then I tried to search the internet for mesothelioma but that's all I could find.
Yeah the first few weeks can be kind of topsy-turvy, and the answer for me was to find out as much as I could about the disease, treatements, side effects and cure rates. The effects of asbestos on people is not pretty. I used to have a neighbor that years previous had worked at Thetford Mines (Canada) and it was the asbestos in his lungs that killed him.
http://www2.brevard.edu/reynoljh/thetfordmines/ophiolite.htm
Another thing to look for is support groups, as they can help you be proactive instead of reactive:
Mesothelioma Treatment - Resources for Mesothelioma Patients
Page Not Found - NCI
Some of the support groups help you pay your medical costs, or costs to go to where treatment is, hotels, travel, etc.
You may also want to look into clinical trials.
Good luck, good hunting, and keep me posted.
