Ok, just submitted my astronaut application to ESA with 10 minutes to spare before the close. Don't expect anything, but would have hated myself if I hadn't applied. Anyone else here go for it?

10 minutes?

I'm trying to see things your way, but I can't put my head that far up my ass.

That was worse than what I did when I had to apply for college when I was in high school. I finally sat down and filled out the applications for 8 colleges and universities and wrote out their required essays the night before the due date. You see, back then there wasn't any online application, so we had to have the applications post dated at a certain date.
My friend, on the other hand, filled out the applications the day it was due and drove 2 hours that night to the post office in another town that was well known for closing at midnight rather than at 5pm like everyone else.
Ironically, we both got accepted to all the schools we applied for.
I wish you the best of luck. May be you'll be the first man on Mars, in which case I will claim to be your personal friend and make millions of dollars selling "Mars Miracle Spring Water" to people.

I'm trying to see things your way, but I can't put my head that far up my ass.

Wow. Good luck with your application. I hope you make it!
But, I've always wondered just how one goes about getting into the application process and what it takes to become an astronaut.
Could you perhaps enlighten me?

Congratulations on even applying. I would have given my left ..... to be given the chance.
If you make it we want a blow by blow on EvC.
