I find this figure impossible to believe. That means farmers pay 80% of the nations water bill? The majority of water being spent in America is most likely on American's showering.
Well NJ, down here in O-town, FLA they are all concerned because 50% of the municipal water is being used to water the lawn. I have no idea how much water crops are using but 50% of Orlando's fresh water is used to keep the grass green. One possible reason why so much water is used on crops it that we are growing them where there isn't sufficient rainfall to grow them.
