Forum: Intelligent Design Thread: Spotting Beretta's "designer" Message #: 11 The subtitle there is "Giving ID its due". The first two sentences:
Subbie writes: It seems to me that, if we are going to be completely fair to IDists, we have to acknowledge that there is in fact the beginning of a good idea in their position. Darwin himself conceded that if a structure can be found that cannot have developed via a series of small steps, that would invalidate his theory. Somehow this has struck me as being a significant message per the core issue of "Intelligent Design". Although I don't think it would totally invalidate Darwin's theory, it would put some dents in it. Go to the cited topic to debate said topic. Moose

Rrhain continues to use a sharp scalpel on arguments. He has many posts worthy of mention.
He never seems to lose his temper or use invective but he isn't at all gentle to nonsensical posts. I happen to like his repetition of points that some posters seem to have trouble getting. He is patient, way more so than I. He gives examples that are simple enough for all but the most simpleminded to grasp. However, most of those he replies to don't get 1/4 of what he says. This is a recent good example.

From message 21 to Message 37 Dr. Bill precisely shows that The Song of Solomon is actually about the spiritual and indeed physical love between men and women. Always a pleasure to have an expert set the record straight.

Forum: Coffee House Thread: Scotus rules 2nd amendment is an individual right Message #: 133 Now as to why the crime rate is so high in the US, perhaps the answer is not just poverty, guns, racism, or even the philosophy of fear and hate preached by politicians, religious leaders, and the media. Rather I think it is the complex interaction of all these factors that are responsible. I just like this message. Moose

Forum: Intelligent Design Thread: Spotting Beretta's "designer". Message number 168 Buzz demonstrates a clear understanding of the difference between I.D. and science, and appears to acknowledge that the two are inconsistent. Edited by subbie, : tyop Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Changed link from "m=101#168" to "m=168#168". Things work best if those two numbers are the same. Probably for most, message 101 and 168 are not on the same page, and the original form will get you to the page with message 101. The changed to form will get you directly to message 168. Gosh, NosyNed...I guess I should read these threads more often.
Thank you, kindly, Sir. Rrhain Thank you for your submission to Science. Your paper was reviewed by a jury of seventh graders so that they could look for balance and to allow them to make up their own minds. We are sorry to say that they found your paper "bogus," specifically describing the section on the laboratory work "boring." We regret that we will be unable to publish your work at this time.

Forum: Coffee House Thread: The Obama Nation Message #: 33, Message 33 Jaderis hits the nail right on the head with this one, giving the topic a much needed grounding in reality.
The cries of socialism from the conservatives are really rather amusing because Obama and pretty much every other Democrat in any office in America are so far to the right that they would be called conservatives in most other Western countries Absolutely. We Europeans are often perplexed by the spectacle of US commentators accusing candidates of "socialism", as though that were a) within a million miles of the truth, and b) tantamount to paedophilia or something. Kudos to Jaderis for pointing out what ought to be obvious to all. Mutate and Survive
