Your reply/comment is very much appreciated. Not being well versed about the world of insects I was gratified to read your precise explanation what really happens when the critters are eating away at the pea innards.
Again, my thanks for educating me about the concept. I was quoting a story some years ago and it suffered in translation. It appears that there is a gradual adaptation (learning) involved and that would fit into Darwin/s basic concepts
