I have been quite a long time out of touch from the Forum, and on returning I have landed on this topic. Considering that at the time I left I was participating in a similar debate, it seems that a circle is closing, or that topics are recurrent.
I will repeat what I said. As a Christian I find difficult to reconcile free will and inherrant prophecy, so I choose freewill. I find difficult to accept that God makes man free, and at same time knows what he will choose.
A parallel may be done comparing God omniscience and omnipotence. If omnipotence is doing all that can be done ( I remember a very apt comment from a forumite: God can not make a rock so big He can not lift)or God can not make rain and not rain at the same time and same place. So in the same way, omniscience is knowing all that can be known. The outcome of freewill actions, simply can not be known.
Anyway, this is a further reason for me not to be litteralist at all regarding the Bible.
