A huntard is someone who plays a hunter but has no idea how to play that class. There are players like that in every class, but hunters get picked by bad players a lot as it seems like a fun class. In reality it is a difficult class to play well and it can be quite obvious when you do screw up.
They were absurdly powerful in vanilla WoW, and established a higher-than-average idiots : decent players ratio because of the perceived class strength. very similar to Rogues.
Subsequent patches and expansions have levelled the playing field somewhat. Now, the idiots seem to have gravitated towards Death Knights, because they're cool. Yet another class that can be extremely strong when played well but is saturated with idiocy.
