Wouldn't it be a gas to find out that you already knew someone from your other life?
I fully agree and feel the same way.

That hat is way cool.
4th Edition D&D is the slickest set of combat rules I've used and my group has got up to 6th level in a 5 sessions (which is good going I reckon).
As a DM it's so much less of a head ache designing stories cause the mechanics actually helps rather than bogs you down with overly complex stat blocks.
Go Go 4th ed!

Straggler vs Mod - Coffeehouse showdown
Well that was a spot of fun me old one-eyed mutant wierdo, if I do say so. Obviously I was a tad distracted given the scenario at hand, but it was nice to have a real-life chin wag in a Cafe on Trafalgar Square.
If you'd have stayed another ten minutes you'd have seen some dancing, actually maybe that's a blessing. If you feel like seeing what you missed, if you follow the link to my other half's page you'll see a video which includes the dancing.
I believe it's my round...

Re: Straggler vs Mod - Coffeehouse showdown
Good to meet you too! I felt bewilderingly tense too with your real reason for beng in the big smoke. But whilst I was fully in support of the points being made I was also resolute in my non-dancing. Call me an irrepresiable geek if you will.........
I had a great time! Should you ever be nearby again please do drop me a line!! And should I ever be in Manc I will definitely let you know.
For the record "The Mod" was everything those at EvC would expect him to be!! And I mean that in the best possible way!!

Re: Straggler vs Mod - Coffeehouse showdown
This is pretty cool indeed, Straggler.
Hopefully more members can meet too, seeing as how this is the new way the world is connecting and sharing ideas. No need to be secluded entities in front of a laptop, people were meant to communicate face-to-face. And while oceans, states and cities divides us, it's cool to see you and Mod make the effort to get past those obstacles. Hope you guys had good times.

Jeez you have high expectations! But let's just say that you won't be dissappointed. Nuff said.

"Cool" is my middle name. Except when "uncool" is my real name. Which is more often than not.

Radical concept. You'll be advocating family dinners and physical contact next. Is there no end to your unique brand of madness?
And while oceans, states and cities divides us, it's cool to see you and Mod make the effort to get past those obstacles.
I was happy to do so. I extend that invite to most EvC members should they be in or near London at any point. Yourself (next year so you seem to think probable) especially. If we time it right maybe me, you, Mod and any other UK based EvCers can do a mass get together. Who knows.
Hope you guys had good times.
Yep it was definitely very cool if mildly surreal.
I should tell you that I am more than a little inebriated at the moment. Buurp.

NO! There's no end, and if there was I would be out of a job, Straggler.
There is no stopping this EvC momentum!

I love it when we post drunken messages...I feel like everyone is kinda "real" at that point. I feel stupid a lot of times on this site most of the time and to know we're just a bunch of drunks behind a laptop makes me feel good.

I would say Mod by name modest by nature

Well, LindaLou, he did say she was going up on the 26th September and they do have video of all past plinthers up on their site. So if you're really intrigued you could go and check...

Re: Straggler
Whilst I missed the end of the plinth session in question (for reasons of childcare - I would have loved to stay till the end) there was no nudity that I am aware of. Apparently being naked on the plinth is art whilst being naked in the street is "indecent exposure" (and thus illegal)
