Re: TV Debate
I have just been watching a recording of the TV debate that took place yesterday. I was too knackered and up to my eyeballs in nappies etc. to take much notice yesterday.
But a Friday night in front of a recording of the prime-ministerial debates.... How fuckin sad am I.......?
I don't think it is sad at all. I am glad you are taking the time to be informed. Elections are bought and sold with platitudes and campaign promises in the States. The overwhelming majority of people don't care enough to investigate anything, so seeing you take interest in the affairs of your country makes me happy by proxy.
You are, however, going to have to explain what "knackered" and "nappies" means in your vernacular.

Re: Tyranny Of The Racist Minority
So Buz, are you demanding a melanin test to determine voter eligibility in order to disenfranchise the so-called 'minority element' like Blacks, Hispanics, American Indians, Arabs, Hindustanis, East Asians, and everyone else who you appear to have some racist prejudice against? It sure appears to me you do.
I'm not so sure that is who he was referring to when he said "minorities." As I understood it he was referring to a political minority, namely, the liberal position.

Re: TV Debate
Knackered = tired
Nappies = those garments you put on babies to catch their doings. Er, diapers?
Alright, I guessed knackered right but nappies had me scratching my temple. Thanks!

Re: Tyranny Of The Racist Minority
Yes but he has before called the election of Obama "racist" claiming that African-Americans only voted for Obama because he's African-American and that by doing so they're showing racism.
Well, many blacks have in fact claimed to have voted for Obama because he is black. But they didn't vote for Alan Keyes when he ran for president on the basis that he's black, and I know several black folk who did not vote for Obama. So, I guess his point is moot.
*sigh* African-Americans? What a stupid term. Do blacks in Canada refer to themselves as African-Canadians?

So educate me on UK politics.
Of the three campaigners and their respective parties, give me pro's and con's for their views.

Conservatives: Conservative, traditionalist, "family-values". Sometimes ascribe to 'trickle down' economics. Cameron has shifted the party leftwards in order to increase its popularity.
Labour: Originally a socialist party for the working class. Blair moved them further to the right to secure their first election win for a looong time. There are some questions over what it will become now the Brown-Blair era is over.
Liberal Democrats: Power to The People! Freedom! The Bohemian Dream! Oh wait, we're in government? What the hell do we do now?
Which party or candidate do you think ascribes most to libertarian ideals:
Socially liberal, but fiscally conservative

Re: Politicus Maximus
Got to say I was suprised to find out who you are/were: I remember thinking when you arrived (as Hyro) that I could not get a handle on which side of the fence you were on.
That's probably because when I got here under the pseudonym of "Hyro" I probably didn't know what side of the fence I was on either. I'm still evolving. Or maybe I'm a perennial fence-sitter.

Sounds as if I wouldn't like any of those parties based on the descriptions.
