So far it looks like Cassiopeia ...
To me, it looks like someone has bought a new Go board but doesn't know how to play
But this is really great, how come we've never done this before?
It is a shame it's restricted to just two axes. There were many groups of questions where I felt I was just creating averages as my answers would flip back and forth from traditional left to traditional right, and that's a lot of interesting detail to average away.

Hi cavediver,
To me, it looks like someone has bought a new Go board but doesn't know how to play
You'd have to talk to brother xongsmith, but IIRC that would be 19x19 yes?
now it looks more like the little dipper ...

For beginners, yes, but 25x25 for the real deal

Do you believe people are not aware of their differences in view point to the extent they will alway miss label themselves? Or is their label choice based upon their assessment of the majority of their views?
I find that most people are simply disinterested with politics altogether. A very large percentage of the population really doesn't even understand what the terms liberal or conservative mean, or if they do, they have a vague understanding.
While EvC is a microcosm of society, I think EvC attracts enough cerebral and decently informed people that we wouldn't have that issue here, but there are an astonishing amount of uninformed and/or apathetic people walking amongst us.
These are the people that politicians target the most; that they'll whisper sweet nothings in their ear to gain their trust.

Re: the political box 2D spectrum is a better picture
Although I did find some question " unanswerable", because my view was a bit more nuanced.
I found the same problem with the test. I found some objections to the verbiage which seemed to all but force it to be unanswerable.

Getting liberal in my old age.
I took the test again just now and got
Economic Left/Right: -7.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62
Just a bit to the right of RAZD.
When I took the test 5 years ago, in relation to the thread Far left - US/UK definition, I got ...
Economic Left/Right: -6.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.41
So I seem to be getting more left wing and more liberal as I get older.

Back to the Authoritarians, the last time I took that test I scored a 31. IIRC I was slightly lower than Ringo but much higher than Nator.

Not one authoritarian minded soul yet, either rightwing or leftwing. Everyone seems libertarian for social aspects. The only real considerable deviation is left/right on economic policies.
