I see the same thing. No matter which user I select, it picks out only my own posts.

Gee, I didn't think anyone would complain!
I think I see a hole in my testing strategy. On my test board the most likely person a recent message is from is me, so of course I never saw a problem. This is fixed, thank you very much for reporting it.

In FF, peek mode when reading opens in a narrow column.

I know the current message rating system is about to get nixed, but is there any way, in the interim, to implement an option to view just rated messages? I would like to see how the dumb shit I say gets rated without having to go through each and every message/post.

Right now my "Current session began" says 2:10 am. That was valid last night but I since had been away from the forum for 12+ hours - It should have reset to something along the lines of 6:00 pm.
An extremely trivial glitch, but still a glitch (if I'm not misusing the term "glitch"). Moose Added by edit: I cleared my cookies and relogged in - Things are back to proper. Maybe just a log out/log in would have done the job. I guess there is a good chance that the glitch was totally caused at my end and not at the forum end. So it's pretty much a "Never mind" sort of thing. Edited by Minnemooseus, : See above.

This is a known bug, it's on the todo list.

Back when I was an Admin, I would find that if I had a page open to the site, but had not been active at the site for a while (over 30 minutes), then if I first went to the control panel link before reading the forum pages, I would continue to use the old "session began" time.Right now my "Current session began" says 2:10 am. That was valid last night but I since had been away from the forum for 12+ hours - It should have reset to something along the lines of 6:00 pm. Now that I am no long an admin, I can get the same effect a different way. If I visit the site on my laptop, that will show a new "session began time". But if I then visit the site from my desktop, I see the old "session began time" from yesterday or whenever. Presumably it has to do with when old cookies are believed instead of being updated. As far as I can tell, this is of no consequence at all. But you could try playing the game of "how long can I maintain that old session" if you want to experiment with it. Jesus was a liberal hippie

I don't know how I missed it all this time, but apparently when I first released dBoard 3.0 I screwed up the message ID order. Message ID's are supposed to increase with time. In other words, the newer the message the larger should be its ID. Apparently when I moved the messages into the MySQL database I screwed that up. The problem didn't become visible until a couple months ago when I changed the database queries to be more efficient by relying on the fact that message ID's should increase with time, but I only just now noticed it. In thread lists the order of recent threads is fine, of course, but with threads older than a year or two the order goes all bonky.
I'm going to fix the problem by remapping the message ID's. This will take an hour or two and require that the board be shut down, so I'll do it late some night soon. I'll post an announcement at least a few hours before.

They're still really, really annoying. They annoy me almost every time I visit this site.
I know of no other decent internet site that uses such a rude, and annoying, mechanism. It's completely unnecessary. Please get rid of it.

Hi Mr Jack,
I understand how you feel. I find I don't mind a new announcement that blinks, but I do mind old announcements that blink, which happens if they're edited or updated. Browsers disabled the blink feature long ago because of how annoying they are, so I implemented a custom blink because I felt the need for some at least some announcements to call attention to themselves. It's not really a true blink. What really happens is that the opacity is toggled between 1 and .5. What I was seeking in the message you're responding to was some feedback as to what solution people preferred. Some possibilities:
I'm sure there are other ideas. We are currently working toward an alternative to the announcement approach for the Index to certain important topics announcement, which is currently permanent. Edited by Admin, : Add another option to this list. Edited by Admin, : Add more options.

Thanks, I've added it to the list - I like this idea independent of the blink.
