If we are to teach theories with little or no scientific proof then we should include Scientology...right?? or how about all the worlds religious views on creation....lets keep the field level and let our children decide??? I vote for science...it always leaves the door open to changes in our level of knowledge. It is not so rigid as to be one way or wrong in the way it expains things...it lends itself to questions....not blind faith.

Based on what I have seen so far there seems to be a rather large divide in the creation/intelligent design camps. If it was to be taught in schools, even if it was in a theology class that also taught other creation theories, how would anyone agree in which version, of biblical creation, to teach. There is already a great divide in the different denominations of Christians. I am sure it would be the same with other religions creation theories as well. Who would decide on what version they will teach, which textbook too buy? If we let each school district decide then there might be a lot of things that differ from system to system.
How would this help our children? As I see it , Science and Creation should not be taught in the same classroom. I do feel that High school kids should be taught some basic classes on theology where different creation theory can be studied.

Re: Comparative religion
ah Yes ..comparative religion then. Forgive me as i am not a college educated person...LOL I feel like some type of course should be taught if nothing else than for maybe a little understanding and tolerance to others beliefs... Yes i guess it is a sticky subject for public schools. I guess our founding fathers had it right when they decided to separate church and state.

What you don't seem to be able to grasp Robert is there are many creation theories from other religions, if you teach one ,then why not the others? I know our founding fathers got it right the first time, separation of church and state is clearly the only way to handle this issue.
I understand your bias being a christian, and knowing you are right, even in the face of overwhelming evidence. This makes you narrow-minded and not capable of objectivity in this issue.
I wonder how you would feel if Hindu was the dominant religion in USA and they were pushing their creation story to be taught in schools? How would it feel if your were in the minority with no lobbying power, no expensive lawyers being paid out of the collection plates, and someother creation story was the one being pushed on our schools?

It's funny how their explanation's of creation evolve,I have even seen some christians using the 2012 predictions of the Mayans as proof that revelations is upon us.
When I was 10 or 11 maybe I was in a Sunday school class and asked about dinosaurs. I was told by the leader, cant call him a teacher, that they were fake. I was young I didn't question it further, but I knew from reading National Geographic and what I been taught in school that this couldn't be right.
Now they use the KT layer as a flood line. Misrepresenting others hard work as proof of their myth. I always love how they explain iridium found in this layer.
I've never been given a good answer about the logistical problems of Noah's ark either.
These are a few things that made me question creation and Christianity.
Until creation of one flavor or another can be proven with real science then it has no place in a science class.

Re: New header (finally)
Hi dawn,
I have read all your post in this topic and can find no proof of anything. You cry foul alot, you challenge what others say but provide no proof to support what you say??
If I am wrong then please put your proof together into one statement, cite your sources. At least tell me what msgs you have posted you consider as providing proof that ID is real science.
Thanks
