That's just an example. Over the years, I've heard so many bullshit from fox news it's amazing the network still exists. Why in the world are people still supporting this network when it's been so obvious for years that they don't care for facts?
I'm a news freak. The first thing I turn on in the morning before I leave is the news. I'd browse through cnn, fox, msnbc, etc. I listen to npr on my way. I also set up my tablet computer to auto-download all news in every category every morning so I can browse through them and read while on the train. I'm telling you this to tell you how much I appreciate the news. It also pisses me off to see a news organization that cares so little for facts.
Should there be a law somewhere to hold a news organization responsible for distributing false news? I'm thinking of something like 3 strikes and you're out.
This is what happens when a news organization isn't held responsible for distributing false news.

They can always use the Kyl defense: any news item reported on Fox might "not be intended to be a factual statement."

Check out the O'Reilly clip about 5 minutes in. He says:
quote:
The importance of this is that you, the everyday American, are now being lied to on a regular basis by people working for huge corporations, and nothing's being done about it.
See, he does tell the truth sometimes.

You mean "Faux News"? Wait, didn't they use that on The Simpsons?
Just the other day there was a commercial for a news channel that offers fair, impartial, and truthful coverage of politicial news. The commercial was for Fox News.

Liberals just can't get over the fact that they are not the sole purveyors of news any longer.
By the way, have you checked to see how many of the liberal news outlets George Soros is financing? Are you comfortable with that?
Maybe Fox is needed for a little balance after all these decades of leftie journalism, eh?

More leftie nonsense.
They (you?) just can't abide the thought of having any contrary opinions.

Alternative opinions to reality and/or the truth?
They (you?) just can't abide the thought of having any contrary opinions.
Did you mean to say?:
They (you?) just can't abide the thought of having any contrary opinions that are not connected to reality and/or the truth.

I'm confused about something. There are opinions and there are facts. I've already shown you some facts that show fox news has no problem lying right through their teeth. This isn't about a difference of opinion.

More leftie nonsense.
I'm curious if you are going to provide an actual rebuttal this time or if you are just going to accuse people of being leftist liars and run screaming and crying for this thread to be shut down....again.

"Right" then....
Ok, speaking as a person on the "right" side of the debate (on this site at least, you god-damned commies! ), Fox News is a fucking disgrace.
If a channel over here ever pulled crap like that, all hell would break lose. I remember an incident a couple of years back where a channel in Belgium "jokingly" reported that the country had split in two over night (due to the political fighting that's always going on between the Dutch speaking and the French speaking side). The response was not a "hmm yes we should think about our situation", no, the reaction was "Fucking idiots, you're a news source, people trust you to report accurately, and not make shit up". I think the same should apply to Fox News, but apparently, a large enough part of the US does not care for the truth.

Of course, they dissimulate this under the cover of complaining about Fox's demonstrable factual inaccuracy, but fortunately you can read minds.

Reality
They (you?) just can't abide the thought of having any contrary opinions.
If right wing dogma had not taken over, your brain may recognized the fact that we are not talking about opinions. We are talking about facts. An issue that it has been repeatedly shown that Fox has a problem with.
I will give you my standard response to religious fundies, because the same pertains to right wing wing nuts.
Your opinion has no effect on reality and evidently reality has no effect on your opinion.
Do you realize that in the political threads you use the same quality of argumentation that you so rightly criticize the fundies of using in science threads?

Liberals just can't get over the fact that they are not the sole purveyors of news any longer.
Based on the evidence presented in this thread, it kind of looks like we still are.
By the way, have you checked to see how many of the liberal news outlets George Soros is financing?
Oooo, George Soros!
