Even people who disapprove of homosexuality can't try to sway others the way they did in the Prop h8 campaign, claiming vague "threats" to "normal" marriage. You can't run a campaign on "protecting marriage" any more when it's blatantly obvious in multiple other states that there's simply no enemy to defend marriage from.
Especially when the most vocal advocates of the harm against "normal" marriage or the "sanctity" of marriage can't hold a steady marriage to save their life.

quote:He frequently floated ideas for creating staged events and strategies for manipulating the mainstream media into favorable coverage, and used his contacts at the networks to sniff out the emergence of threatening narratives and offer advice on how to snuff them out—warning Bush, for example, to lay off the golf as war in the Middle East approached because journalists were starting to talk. There are also occasional references to dirty political tricks, as well as some positions that seem at odds with the Tea Party politics of present-day Fox News: Ailes supported government regulation of political campaign ads on television, including strict limits on spending. He also advised Nixon to address high school students, a move that caused his network to shriek about "indoctrination" when Obama did it more than 30 years later.
quote:"A Plan for Putting the GOP on TV News" (read it here) is an unsigned, undated memo calling for a partisan, pro-GOP news operation to be potentially paid for and run out of the White House. Aimed at sidelining the "censorship" of the liberal mainstream media and delivering prepackaged pro-Nixon news to local television stations, it reads today like a detailed precis for a Fox News prototype. From context provided by other memos, it's apparent that the plan was hatched during the summer of 1970.

When I took sex ed in 7th grade it was a class about how humans reproduce. since we cannot reproduce homosexually, it was not covered in my class. There really is no need to mention homosexuality in a class that teaches student how humans reproduce.
Wow. I feel bad for your school if that's all your sexual education was about. Must have been a very short class, eh? No mention of diseases associated with sex? No mention of condoms or how to put one on? It was STRICTLY about reproduction/pregnancy etc.?

We should take a poll as to which group is more likely to be intloerant/bigoted: religious types or non-religious types. I've noticed lately that more often that not it is the religious types have a "you're different from me then fuck you" type attitude.

Where are the jobs Buz? (hint: they don't speak English)
Who saw a 23% income growth? (hint: it's not the middle class)
Who destroyed the economy? (hint: they invest in banks)
Do some research (away from Glen-I-raped-and-murdered-a-little-girl-Beck) and tell me that all the "rich people" are helping you and I. They help themselves and say fuck you to people like you and I.

I cannot understand the love the people in this country have for the rich and corporations. Our country is being raped by the rich and corporations and people still want to lower the taxes on them.
They hold on to the pipe dream (you know, the one piped through every TV show in America) that they, too, will be rich one day if they just work hard enough.

The alternative is to hold the vanishing middle class hostage, take away and cut the social services and education, and force us to repay the debt with less than 20% of the countries income.
And yet, this is precisely what people like Coyote want to do.

The House majority leader, who did most of the talking for the Republican side, said those taking out student loans should start paying interest right away, rather than being able to defer payments until after graduation. It is a big-ticket item that would save $40 billion over 10 years.
Obama responded:
“I’m not going to do that,” Obama said. “I’m not going to take money from old people and screw students,” not without some compromise on the tax-increase side.
This, coupled with Boehner saying the debt ceiling is Obama's problem and it's his fault if it doesn't get resolved. Lying fuck.
Now, someone remind me: why should ANYONE, other than the uber rich, vote (R)?

I think Arty is trying to show us that his reasoning for not being against the law isn't because he hates fags."Why don't you call upon your God to strike me? Oh, I forgot it's because he's fake like Thor, so bite me" -Greydon Square
