Umm taz you could ask your doctor about Helminthic therapy
Helminthic therapy is an experimental approach that involves inoculation of the patient with specific parasitic intestinal nematodes (helminths). There are currently two closely-related treatments available, inoculation with either Necator americanus, commonly known as hookworms, or Trichuris Suis Ova, commonly known as Pig Whipworm Eggs
Helminthic therapy - Wikipedia
I dont know shit about medicine but it shouldn't hurt to ask.

And the most uncomfortable part of this is my testicles. My scrotum has turned into a rock, cramming my poor testicles into an uncomfortable small space.
That's awesome.
Just thought I'd let you bastards know how lucky you are to not have inherited a genetic defect as bad as my case.
Hey at least you're not hispanic or black.
You should see my latin testicles, totally adorable.

Re: Wholistic Systemic Solution
Apparently the wholistic approach would work to
correct/strengthen
a dysfunctional immune system by correcting a systemic imbalance of the system at large.
(I see my link hones in on the home page rather than the article.
quote:
Self Care
Boost your immunity naturally by altering your eating and exercise habits.
Nutritionists recommend a diet high in fresh vegetables and fruit, whole grains, brown rice, low-fat dairy products, fish and poultry. A daily multivitamin should be taken. Exercise daily if possible.
Scientists believe multiple factors such as environmental toxins, heredity, viruses, and certain drugs may play a role in causing an autoimmune disease.
Stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, abuse of alcohol and use of tobacco can also weaken the immune system and may play some role as well.
The problem with the conventional drug approach which targets the symptom rather than the whole system is that agents which have bad side effects leave the system holistically weaker as is the case with so many prescribed treatments. About all it does is to buy you some time (albeit in misery) before you croak.

Re: Wholistic Systemic Solution
It's interesting that you appeal to what "scientists believe" in one breath and in the very next you deride medical science.
Your holistic woo may have worked just fine for your family, but the plural of "anecdote" is not "data." Exercising, eating healthy foods, getting enough sleep, avoiding stress, and taking vitamins is good advice even for healthy individuals. But it's not enough when you have a real medical problem.
You needed to take a kid to a doctor over a broken arm. Taz's medical issue is a heritable genetic disorder, not something that he can solve just by cutting out the junk food. People with actual autoimmune disorders and diseases often require real medication for their entire lives. HIV patients who try your holistic woo will wind up with AIDS; transplant patients will wind up with rejected organs.

Buz, Taz has a SERIOUS, REAL medical condition. What part of that don't you understand? Do you say to the retarded boy down the road: "eat better and one day you'll not have your down's syndrome"?

Re: Wholistic Systemic Solution
Scientists believe multiple factors such as environmental toxins, heredity, viruses, and certain drugs may play a role in causing an autoimmune disease.
Stuff that has evidence and study behind them no diet mentioned
Stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, abuse of alcohol and use of tobacco can also weaken the immune system and may play some role as well.
The word MAY pops out docent it includes your diet plan treatment.
So how do scientists treat autoimmune desieases ????? Diet that boosts the immunesystem????
No they use immunosuppressives that supress the immune system making it weaker.
Why so it does not cause so much dammage.
Think of the immune system as a guard dog in some cases the guard dog gets hyperactive and tries to kill your other pets the goldfish the cat the hamster you are proposing to give the guard dog a shot of adrenalin, scientists give him a sedative.

I understand where buz is coming from. I really do. I have relatives who refuse to believe that I have is a "real" condition. After all, they don't have it. They think I have too much poison in my body and I just need cleansing.
The problem with rare conditions is most people don't understand or are unwilling to believe its a real condition.
remember that not too long ago autistic kids were just brats.

Sorry to hear you have to battle your own body. My sister-in-law has auto immune issues. She was doing fine, but her body may be starting to wage a battle. Not as bad as yours and we're hoping to come up with a solution. She's lost three siblings to auto immune issues. Not a good trend.
I hope you win the battle and the war.

immune system transplant?
Taz, so very sorry to hear about your condition.
I can relate to some of it, as my cancer is incurable and it is a lymphoma that lives in my immune system.
I had an autogenetic stem cell transplant of my white blood cells to try to rid myself of the cancerous cells. It did not work entirely, but knocked it down from level 3 to level 1 (which is more treatable with chemotherapy). So far I am in remission, with the last treatment in april 2010.
They can also do an allogeneic transplant, where the white cells come from a compatible donor (usually family). You would have to take suppression drugs to keep them new cells from attacking you -- so that sounds like the fix you are already in.
Stem Cell Transplants: A Lifesaving Treatment for Cancer Patients
Too bad stem cell research has been so (expletive deleted) handicapped for the last decade . . . as that could offer a solution that would not need the suppression drugs.
Wish I could help.

Say What? Condition Not Real?
Taz writes:

Whatever gave you he notion that I don't think you have a real condition? There are wholistic cancer regimes, mostly outlawed in the US which effectively treat real conditions; some of the deadliest like terminal cancer.
Regarding cancer, the regime must be applied before the liver has tanked. Way back in the 1970s a man named Max Gerson was effectively treating terminal cancer patients by flushing the system with raw carrot juice and liver extract supplement, etc. I have a newspaper investigative reporter's book, Has Dr. Max Gerson A True Cancer Cure.. The reporter set out to expose Gerson as a quack and ended up writing his book which summed up by saying (1) that the American Cancer Society and the AMA found it more profitable to look for cures than to find them and (2) that these organizations did not want to admit that Gerson's simplistic regime could do what their millions extracted from the sheeple for conventional methods failed to do.
The reason Gerson ended up treating terminal patients is that they would come to him as a last resort after the conventional methods failed.
He and other wholistic docs in the US have been banned from treating patients, due to the power of the drug cartels in bed with the FDA, all about $$$ and power.
In recent years I've developed the symptoms of skin lymphoma on my face and ears. I've been dealing with it solely holistically via a fairly strict diet regime, applications of a non-drug product called Perrin's Blend, a solution of aloe vera juice and vitamin E oil which I mix, comfrey poultices, etc. It's taken some time, but my face is nearly healed up.
It appears to have been isolated to the skin lymph nodes, likely by sun exposure rather than systemic from other organs, indicative that the sun had a lot to do with it.
