Re: Please, please explain
did you notice the word "original"? are you even reading anything here?
Then please explain what and where the original ad hominem was. I seem to have missed it.

Re: Please, please explain
I think he is saying that asking for evidence is an abusive ad hominem. But then, according to him I am an asshole. I suppose that is better than actually being an ad hominem.

One more question
The ATF, FBI, and army at Ft. Hood broke the law, just to attack some eccentric Christians, who were minding their own business.
Do you think that Clinton, Reno and the above were gunning for Christians?
If so, why were they?
Can you list the laws that were broken?

Re: Perry - Intellectual Heavyweight?
Let me break it down for you, even though I’m sure I will have to repeat myself 10 times anyway.
The holocaust started in the 1930s.
Some Jews escaped, and told others in the outside world of the atrocities.
No one wanted to believe them, and they were accused of elaborating the situation, starting conspiracy theories, and being anti-german.
When you stated that sheeple is a term that is intended to imply that the underlying cause of their failure to believe mad things is mindless conformity rather than not being mad.
I said the same thing was said of Jews who escaped the holocaust.
You didn’t understand, or something.
Some people thought that some Jews were lars. What this has to do with the word "sheeple" is obscure, except that the word is used by people who still think that they were lars to describe the people who don't.
That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But to insinuate it is mine is nothing more than a weak strawman, as I said nothing of the sort.
Of course, I insinuated nothing of the sort, so maybe you would have done better not to use the term "straw man" at that point. What I say is that that is how the word is actually used --- i.e. by loonies, to denote non-loonies.

Stocks on wall street fell again today. Despite gains made yesterday. Italy and Spain being bailed out. Global down turns leads me to one question. Has corporate greed throttled the very well spring that sustained our economies? In other words, If the populace that works and spends are unable to keep working and spending. As social programs are further curtailed. What will keep this global economy afloat? Corporate money is seeking safe havens and Governments are refusing to tax them. I really am starting to think our collective governments are inept.

Rick Perry, Hurrah
I see that Rick Perry has officially declared. So:
Rick Perry. Governor of Texas. Under his leadership Texans have become the only people in the United States who have to drink their own sewage, thus saving us all the trouble of trying to think of a metaphor. He is such an undiluted example of a conservative Christian that when he goes on television that's probably the only time he's not having drug-fueled sex with a male prostitute. On April 21, 2011, Perry proclaimed a three-day period, from April 22 to April 24, as "Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas". By late July, 75% of the state was experiencing exceptional drought conditions, up from 10-20% in April. This means that Perry is the only candidate for whom we have positive experimental evidence that God hates him. If he is elected President, expect rains of blood, plagues of locusts, and the death of your firstborn.

Well, it worked!!1! Dr Smartypants, I'll have you know that Snyder has had nearly an INCH of rain since then! I think Anglagard has had maybe even 1 1/2 inches over at Big Spring!
'Course, we were sort of looking for 8 or 10 inches' worth.......

Not all of Texas (yet), just one small part.
Guess which part.

BIG SPRING, Texas, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- A Texas town in the grip in the third-worst drought in state history says it will collect and treat wastewater and blend it in with regular potable water.
Water for the 27,000 residents of Big Spring comes through the Colorado River Municipal Water District, which has broken ground on a plant to capture treated wastewater for recycling, Discover News reported Thursday.

Do you really wish someone had murdered Bachmann the way Manson did Tate? Hate baiting?
I know the hatemongers in both camps do this all the time and then we get so incensed at the low state of our politics. We can take a stand somewhere and say "Let's not do this."
Tongue in cheek, I know, but, anglagard, even in jest this should be beneath you ... and us.

I think his point is that given the Republican's predilection for crazy candidates, Bachmann and Perry would have been easily outstripped by Charles Manson if only he was available to run.

Herman Cain And The Poet
Herman Cain quotes a poet:
A poet once said, 'life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it's never easy when there's so much on the line.
Those are actually lyrics from the theme song of Pokemon: The Movie.
---
What's more, it's complete drivel. Life is a challenge and seems impossible ... but it's never easy? This is like saying: "Elephants are gray, but they're never pink".

Surely the use of the word 'can' is relevant?
quote:
A poet once said, 'life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it's never easy when there's so much on the line.
Would it not be like saying: "Elephants can be grey, elephants can be white, but they're never pink"?
If you don't agree, then our pokemons can fight it out to decide who is the victor.

I'll accept that. I think I was being a bit too sensitive anyway.
I am just not looking forward to the inundation of BS, hate mongering, deceit and petty "sensational" issues our quadrennial political fuck fest is about to unleash on all of us poor slobs.

You're not? We're clearly two very different people.
OK, in principle it would be nice if democracy worked some other way, but it never has and it never will, so I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride.
