You still refuse to tell me why I, as a lower-middle class american, should vote conservative/republican. What are they doing for me?
All my adult life, I've been the only Democrat in a Republican family (as was my ex, who's also a unionist), having registered Democrat mainly because of Nixon's then-current first term. Kind of ironic, since Nixon was a flaming leftist liberal compared to the present-day GOP.
A year or two ago, I heard something very surprising. My very Republican brother-in-law, who retired a few years earlier, made the remark: "I'm beginning to realize that the Republicans are not my friends."
