Author | Topic: What's The Best Solution For Humanity? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

There have been numerous religions, ideologies, philosophies; and humanity is still in dis-unity, chaos, mutual exclusivity and pointing to only disaster ahead. Sooner or later, push will come to shove, and humanity will have to either decide its path - or disintergrate. If we keep on the same path we will end where it is pointing.
What then is the correct way for humanity to go forward? My suggestion: Humanity must be based on laws, equally applicable to all, and those laws must be enshrined and mandated by representatives selected by humanity. For, of and by the people of earth. Admittedly, not everyone will find the results acceptable, as they would compete or contradict with inculcated beliefs and cultures - but this is equally impacting on all. Also, it will be trying for humanity to form a credible and unbiased set of representatives inclined for all humanity than any one group - the UN has not worked due to corruption from larger, dominating groups inclined on their own agenda, as opposed the good of all humanity via jst laws equally impacting on all. However, such difficulties are those which must be prevailed upon, and it still represents a better system than what we have today. What's your solution? What's your solution? There is no solution. There is way too much greed and stupidity to be overcome. Ultimately, I anticipate more war, famine, and/or disease. I won't live to see it all happen. Nor do I have any descendants to witness it. Cheers, Moose Professor, geology, Whatsamatta U Evolution - Changes in the environment, caused by the interactions of the components of the environment. Perhaps the best solution is group size somewhere between tribalism and all of humanity erring on the smaller size.
Tribalism, or in modern society, gangs, are groups between perhaps 200 and 1000 individuals. That's too small for any practical large-scale solutions. Ca. 7 billion people encompassing many different philosophies and regions is far too large for any practical solutions. Democracy is based on the assumption that a million men are wiser than one man. How's that again? I missed something. In other words, what does someone in India or China have to say about the way we do things in my county? Or state? Nothing. Let's keep our mistakes as local as possible, so there is some hope of correcting them.

quote: You are describing the failed premises and doctrines, and thus the term 'ultimately' cannot apply. Its up to humanity, there is no one else to do the job, and we have the advantage of knowing what does not work. Belief must be based on and satisfied by magestic laws - not the other way around.

quote: That is one of the problems facing humanity. Democrasy was stuffed up by the Greeks. Majority deciding is not democrasy but mob rule. There can be no democrasy unless correctly applied: 'YOU SHALL 'NOT' FOLLOW A CORRUPTED MAJORITY' Otherwise, Sadaam Hussein and Hitler were the world's most democratically elected rulers.

Humanity must be based on laws, equally applicable to all, and those laws must be enshrined and mandated by representatives selected by humanity. That sounds like what we have been working toward. I think the biggest step will be controlling/limiting the population. The next is a sustainable zero growth economy.

What's your solution? The best solution would be easier access to better education for all of mankind. A little education can go a long way. A lot of education can go further."Why don't you call upon your God to strike me? Oh, I forgot it's because he's fake like Thor, so bite me" -Greydon Square

I cannot google any good definition for "magestic laws," or "majestic laws" either.
Could you please explain what you mean by that. My initial google searching suggests that it is a very non-standard term.Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

What hoaah212002 said. Education, education, education. Real education, not excuses for education (read indoctrination) given at so many religiously orientated schools.
Birth control. People should learn to be more responsible, as the world doesn't have the resources to cope with the current human population and then the very high population growth in some areas. Education also tends to help sorting this one. Democracy. Democracy is not the perfect system, but it sure is way better than all the others. The worst scenario for humankind would be to repeat the old theocracies Western Europe experienced during the Middle Ages and are very prevelant in certain areas of the globe today. This has to be prevented at all costs. It will only lead to disaster.

I'm not a decider what's the best way, just tossing views around. I agree education is not negotiable; the problem is one can be educated in a wrong way, which has caused humanity's big issues today. We have grotesque contradictions between history's descriptions between Christianity and Islam, for instance - so here education only increases the problem. I prefer the factor of laws followed by education for the next generation.

By magestic laws I simply mean good laws which most will agree and accept and which are workable as equally impacting on all. No religious or cultural and other racism. Equal rights for the stranger as the inhabitant and equal justice for all, IMHO, are megestic laws which can unite humanity, even though they may present some issues for some. The big picture rules.

Totally disagree. This spells the utter destruction of humanity and the kind of humanity we want to live with and as. Better, that we devise means of going forth and multiplying by having dominion of other worlds. Its not a choice factor ultimately. Your saying "Destroy the planet and then abandon ship for Mars".
