Re: Computer Help?
You forgot to mention which operating system you are using.
For linux, open a root shell and run
/etc/init.d/network restart
For a Mac, somebody else will have to answer. The "ipconfig" is for Window. For a really old Windows, it might instead be "winipcfg" (if I remember that far back).

I assumed winblows because it looks like vista/7 network connection icon.

Re: Computer Help?
Ah-ha ... on Vista I have to be running cmd as an administrator.
I managed to get it to do the release and renew thing. Now all I have to do is wait for my connection to go down and see if it'll solve the problem.

Vista is not as bad as some people make it out to be.
I have Vista on my desktop, for when I boot to Windows. However, I rarely boot to Windows.

Re: Flat Earth
Thank you, RAZD.
I am aware of Eratosthenes' experiments (and other "ancient" alternatives) as well as of its accuracy.
I was hoping for something that the average guy/adolescent could try out, a simplified/alternative experiment that would not require any form of sophisticated instrumentation. I don't know if such a method exists and my searches have come up empty.
Still, your answer is appreciated.

Nice question!
Any time you want!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Pole#Time
Or
Midnight

But I am going to peg my choice on:
quote:
The lines of longitude that establish our time zones are so close at the North Pole, the Arctic region uses UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) when local time is necessary at the North Pole.

The same time.
Edited by Larni, : No reason given.

The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer.

2 hours ahead of the South Pole, so it can't be too hard to work it out...

I have about 300 color images. I want to convert them all to grayscale. Is there a free program that allows me to do this?
