Re: Bachmann still Bat shit crazy
quote:
Bachmann said. She told me that her little daughter took that vaccine, that injection, and she suffered from mental retardation thereafter.
So the mother suffered from mental retardation ever since the daughter got an injection.
Add sentence structure to the list of areas where Bachmann is clueless.

What is really scary is that there are already folk that actually voted for such an idiot.

Fact Check: No evidence to suggest HPV vaccine causes 'mental retardation'
Does she even understand what mental retardation is?
It is possible that she actually believes that nonsense. It is also possible that it is a convenient lie to cover her real objection.
As far as I can tell, the real objection of evangelicals to HPV is that it supposedly encourages premarital sex. Apparently it is better for a woman to die of cervical cancer, than to slightly weaken the fear of premarital sex.

Deep down, I can only hope that Bachmann is the Alli G of the Tea Party (or the Borat of Bumpkins, if you prefer). How funny would that be? What if she is really a died-in-the-wool liberal Poe-ing the entire Tea Party?
BTW, I think the same of Ann Coulter. Still holding out on that one.

Re: Bachmann still Bat shit crazy
From Bachmann:
quote:
I had a mother last night come up to me here in Tampa, Florida, after the debate, Bachmann said. She told me that her little daughter took that vaccine, that injection, and she suffered from mental retardation thereafter.
I had my daughter do the HPV vaccine, it was free, why the hell not?
After that she graduated junior college 3 weeks before she graduated high school, and unlike Bachmann's later educational "achievements," the JC is accredited.
Perhaps Bachmann either doesn't understand the reliability of personal testimony as evidence or she doesn't understand the definition of the term retarded (although I thought that by the rules of the PC and anti-vaccination crowd, we are supposed to use the term "autistic").
A dictionary may be in order. Good thing for her I didn't write it, may have had to ask her campaign staff for a photo.

The recent Tea Partyist comments make me just sad. It is just totally incomprehensible how totally and completely incompassionate they are.
Arguments against HPV-vaccine are just evil - so utterly evil. Now the latest comments by Ron Paul about letting an uninsured person just die and some of the audience cheering that!!
Living in a Scandinavian country with completely universal healthcare and high level of unreligiousness my heart just sometimes breaks for the American people. Its like...if you just had what we have...society taking unconditionally care of those who cannot take care of themselves, and also the rest of us if needed.

Jon Huntsman and Gary Johnson are officially less dickish than the other candidates. So it's a shame that the rank-and-vile Republicans who get to pick the candidate are, apparently, complete dicks.

i think you are confused as to what passionate means. I think the word you were trying for is compassionate?

personal freedom requires personal responsibility.
So, then, by extension: the freedom of a nation requires national responsibility.
Why do you hate freedom, AE?

Then there was Newt
Newt seems to think evolution means we might have turned into Rhinos, but got lucky instead.

Palin Won't Run
Is anybody surprised at this?
Perhaps I'm too much of a cynic. But for a long time, it has looked pretty obvious that she had no intention of running, but would pretend to run for as long as she could get away with it because that brought in publicity and money.

Con-artist...
I really was really really hoping she'd run. It would be an awesome republican ticket... Palin-Odonnell ticket that is.
